What you'll be doing

The Senior Director of Network Modernization will lead the strategic transformation of CIBC’s network and security infrastructure, driving modernization initiatives to ensure robust, scalable, and secure operations. This role will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of next-generation network and security solutions, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

The Senior Director of Network Modernization will develop and execute modernization strategies for network and security infrastructure, leading cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale transformation projects aligned with business objectives. Oversee the migration to modern, cloud-based architectures and champion advanced security practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. By managing vendor relationships and key stakeholders, maximize value and performance, while mentoring a high-performing team and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

How you'll succeed

Strategy & Leadership - Develop and execute a comprehensive modernization strategy for network and security infrastructure. Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale transformation projects. Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals.Network & Security Modernization - Oversee the migration from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based and software-defined architectures. Drive adoption of zero-trust security models, advanced threat detection, and response capabilities. Ensure network resilience, scalability, and performance in support of business operations.Governance & Compliance - Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Establish and maintain policies, standards, and procedures for network and security operations. Manage risk assessments and remediation activities.Vendor & Stakeholder Management - Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and key internal stakeholders. Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements to maximize value and performance.Team Development - Mentor and develop a high-performing team of network and security professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.You are an experienced professional. With over 10 years of experience in network and security architecture—including 5+ years in senior leadership.You have a proven track record of driving large-scale modernization initiatives in complex environments. Your deep expertise spans cloud networking, software-defined networking (SDN), and advanced security frameworks.You possess a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, such as PCI, SOX, and GDPR, and are highly skilled in communicating, leading teams, and managing stakeholders. Relevant certifications, including CISSP, CCIE, and CISM, are strongly preferred.
