Senior Director, Global Obesity Commercial Development

ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Global Obesity Commercial Development serves as a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping Pfizer’s portfolio-level commercial development strategy for the global obesity franchise. This role leads cross-functional strategic integration, drives end-to-end commercial strategy across multiple pipeline assets, and partners with senior leadership on high-impact decisions.

Operating as a senior strategic leader, this role requires a high sense of urgency, the ability to navigate significant ambiguity, and the capability to fluidly shift between asset‑level detail and portfolio‑wide strategic direction. The Senior Director must demonstrate exceptional cross‑functional leadership and communication skills, orchestrating complex integrations across clinical, commercial, and operational stakeholders. As the obesity portfolio progresses toward late‑stage development and early commercialization, this position is critical in ensuring portfolio‑level strategic coherence, enterprise‑aligned decision‑making, and executional readiness across the franchise. A successful candidate will bring deep scientific and business acumen, strong strategic judgment, and a demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and governance bodies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio-Level Commercial Strategy Leadership

Lead the shaping of Pfizer’s overarching commercial vision and long-range portfolio strategy.Translate market and clinical signals into portfolio-level implications and strategic choices.Partner with R&D, Commercial, Finance, and BD to influence investment and lifecycle strategies.Oversee forecasting frameworks and scenario planning.Identify and shape BD opportunities.


Launch Readiness & Cross-Functional Integration

Lead global launch readiness strategy across multiple assets.Serve as senior integrator across Commercial, R&D, GAV, PGS, BD, and regions.Shape capabilities and operating model required to deliver strategy.Ensure alignment across global, regional, and market stakeholders.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.


Experience

12+ years in commercial and R&D strategy, commercial development, portfolio strategy, or consulting.Leadership shaping end-to-end strategy across multiple assets.Strong financial acumen and experience influencing senior leadership.Exceptional communication and executive presence.Obesity or cardiometabolic experience strongly preferred.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
