We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director, Global Mobility, to serve as the strategic and technical lead for all matters related to cross-border employee movement. This role requires a deep command of global mobility strategy, cross-border taxation, immigration compliance, colleague experience, and policy governance. The ideal candidate will bring significant international experience, a proven track record of leading globally dispersed teams across diverse business and legal environments, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
The role reports to the Senior Vice President, Total Rewards, and can be based in any location in Europe, but preferably in France, Spain, or the United Kingdom (remote, hybrid or in-office options available depending on selected location and candidate preferences). There are currently five colleagues located across the globe who will report into this role.
Key Accountabilities:
Serve as the enterprise-side global mobility expert for all international assignment types and needs.Develop, implement, and evolve global mobility strategy, frameworks and policies aligned to talent and business objectives.Lead tax and compliance strategies & requirements across jurisdictions.Oversee immigration strategy, ensuring compliance with local laws and global regulatory frameworks.Manage complex visa and work authorization cases, particularly in sensitive or high-risk geographies.Drive the development, governance, and execution of an international payroll, including split-pay arrangements and shadow payrolls.Coach, mentor, and develop a globally dispersed team, with a commitment to foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and continuous improvement workplace culture.Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to support strategic moves and address escalations.Serve as a trusted thought partner across the organization to provide mobility solutions and advice, and as an internal consultant for complex global cases.Engage with and educate stakeholders, particularly assignees, HR colleagues and business leaders, on Global Mobility philosophy, policies, and processes.Leverage data to provide insights into Global Mobility costs and processes and propose data-driven solutions to optimize our talent mobility strategies.Working with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of quality services and products, monitoring performance and ROI.Experience & Qualifications:
Extensive experience in global mobility and/or international HR, including working with complex cross-border scenarios.Proven expertise in managing global mobility activities on a global scale, including hands-on familiarity with tax, immigration, and mobility policy development & management.Strong knowledge of the mobility landscape, vendor management, assignment lifecycle management, and relocation frameworks.Leadership presence and the ability to communicate strategic information to Executives and key stakeholders.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.Proactive, solutions-oriented leadership, and process ownership with operational excellence focus.Strategic mindset together with the willingness to be more tactical and operational; driving continuous improvement and providing hands-on expertise.Able to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict, drive, and influence change.Solid track record of managing cross-border moves in global companies or with Relocation Management Companies (RMCs).Experience in developing or executing policies/ framework for project-based group moves will be advantageous.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field and GMS-T or GMPD accreditation is desirable.A global mindset, deep cultural intelligence, empathy, and sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse Assignees and their families.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.If you live in a city, chances are we will give you a lift or play a role in keeping you moving every day.
