About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EMEA Healthcare Business Development Lead to join our Healthcare Valuation Advisory team in London. This senior role combines strategic leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical expertise, requiring a proven professional with deep knowledge in healthcare real estate valuation and advisory services.

In the short term, over the first year, the role will include maternity cover for the current UK & Ireland Healthcare Valuation Lead. This will involve team and financial management, support to staff within the team, work delegation and sign offs, and client relationships. Following this period, the role will transition out of a management focus and more towards client relationships, whilst continuing to support the UK team with technical support and sign offs.

The successful candidate will be capable of managing client relationships while contributing to business growth across the UK and EMEA healthcare sector, supporting our EMEA Healthcare Sector Lead in driving client account management and winning more valuation advisory work.

This position focuses on winning and executing valuation and strategic work on operational assets within the regulated Healthcare sector, including care homes, specialist care services, private care services, children's services, medical centres, private hospitals, and retirement living. The role will support the EMEA Healthcare Sector Lead in executing the sector growth strategy, building relationships, and ensuring delivery quality for sector clients, while reporting directly to the EMEA Healthcare Sector Lead within the EMEA Operational Real Estate Value & Risk Advisory team.

The position additionally has an expectation to be engaged in Valuation work within the UK Healthcare team, providing technical expertise to support junior staff in their learning and to sign off UK Healthcare valuations alongside the Healthcare UK & Ireland Lead.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Development Support the EMEA Healthcare Sector Lead in developing and executing a strategic plan for Healthcare Valuations across EMEA. Manage key client relationships with healthcare operators, investors, and institutional clients while supporting strategic business development initiatives within the healthcare sector. Present valuation findings and market insights to C-suite executives and investment committees, identify new market opportunities, and contribute to expanding service offerings.

Technical Excellence & Advisory Services Conduct complex healthcare property valuations including hospitals, medical office buildings, care homes, and specialist care facilities. Ensure compliance with RICS Red Book standards and international valuation guidelines while preparing and reviewing valuation reports and advisory deliverables. Assist in ensuring a best-in-class standardized approach to valuations for healthcare valuation assignments.

Client Management & Stakeholder Relations Deliver comprehensive valuation services for investment transactions and portfolio assessments. Support debt and equity financing through detailed property appraisals and market analysis while providing ongoing portfolio monitoring and revaluation services for institutional clients. Support the development of key relationships in the Healthcare sector, focusing on local, national, and cross-border clients.

Team Collaboration & Coordination Assist in coordinating a sector approach with specialist valuer teams across EMEA countries, in particular the UK. Work closely with senior team members and support junior valuation professionals while contributing to professional development and technical training initiatives. Collaborate with the wider Value & Risk Advisory team and Healthcare Capital Markets team to create a partnership approach for optimized opportunities and support a consistent approach in targeting and servicing key valuation clients.

Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership Support the EMEA Healthcare Sector Lead as a subject matter expert in addressing Healthcare-related inquiries from the business and clients. Monitor healthcare real estate market trends and regulatory changes while contributing to thought leadership content and market reports. Maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders and professional bodies.

Required Qualifications

Education & Professional Credentials Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master's preferred. MRICS qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrated healthcare sector expertise. Ideally, a RICS qualified registered valuer with approximately 7+ years of post-APC relevant experience and/or experience with an international Healthcare operator or Healthcare REIT is desirable.

Experience & Expertise Minimum 8-10 years in commercial real estate valuation with 5+ years focused on healthcare properties. Proven track record managing client relationships and complex projects with experience navigating a complex matrixed organization. Advanced knowledge of valuation methodologies, financial modelling, and market analysis.

Essential Skills Deep understanding of healthcare real estate fundamentals and operational drivers. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Argus, and valuation software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate key client and stakeholder management. Good project management skills with ability to work independently and as part of an EMEA team with minimum supervision. Strong interpersonal skills to deal with clients and other advisors while remaining collegial and team oriented. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and tight timelines. Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Argus systems, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.

Preferred Experience Previous experience with healthcare M&A transactions or portfolio advisory work. Knowledge of UK healthcare regulations and NHS frameworks with familiarity of international healthcare real estate markets. Experience with alternative healthcare property types and demonstrated experience serving institutional investors and lending institutions. Ability to travel throughout other parts of Europe if required with European language skills being desirable. Experience in Salesforce/Capforce, VBA coding, data analytics, and/or BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is also desirable.
