Job Summary
Partner with the VP, Strategy and Business Development and System senior leaders to lead development and execution of inorganic growth opportunities, including joint ventures, partnerships, acquisitions and divestitures. Identifies and develops relationships to execute on these opportunities, both internally and externally, and works closely with System leadership to ensure opportunities are aligned to the system strategy. Manages a team responsible for financial modeling and business analysis. Evaluates competitors, market and industry trends, and makes recommendations for traditional, non-traditional, and diversified growth. Leads a team with this focus and manages an ongoing portfolio of opportunities. Provides transparency to senior leadership regarding the progress of ongoing efforts and works closely with senior leaders across the System to ensure organizational readiness to manage and/or integrate opportunities. Networks with internal and external partners displaying expert analytical, deduction, presentation and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of initiating, developing, and consummating healthcare deals involving two or more parties, while leading a multi-disciplinary matrixed team through these efforts.Essential FunctionsHolds responsibility for the development and execution of partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Recommends areas of strategic development based upon analysis of national trends and research, the regional health care environment, business development planning, and System direction.Identifies and develops relationships to aide in transactions to strengthen the System position.Evaluates competitors, market and industry and makes recommendations for traditional, non-traditional, and diversified new business opportunities. Uses data gathered on program performance, changes in competitive market and competitor moves (or anticipated moves) to position the System ahead of the evolving health care landscape.Partners with the SLT, Region and Function leadership, and service line leaders to develop and execute growth strategies, tactics, and plans - and in setting annual growth targets.Manages a team and works in partnership with department leadership to provide financial modeling and strategic analysis leveraging data-driven insights to drive analysis of inorganic growth, and support department leadership in evaluating organic growth leveraging the BD team as needed. Balances the delivery of these items across key departmental stakeholders. Manages the team to develop valuations, pro-formas, and other necessary financial information to evaluate and develop business opportunities.Provides regular reporting and transparency to the Vice President, strategy and business development, and senior leadership regarding the progress of ongoing efforts and works closely with senior leaders across the System to ensure organizational readiness to manage and/or integrate opportunities.QualificationsRequired Bachelor's Degree in business administration and/or medical administrationPreferred Master's Degree or equivalent, in business administration10 years of relevant experience related experience in a large health care system or specialty hospital (or comparable setting) in the specified service line or in a business development role RequiredExperience working collaboratively with physicians and surgeons.
