CGI is seeking a strong DevOps Engineer who is highly capable and self-driven AWS Cloud & DevOps Engineer to lead the implementation of cloud infrastructure and deployment automation for a high-impact project with CGI.
This role requires a strong blend of AWS engineering, DevOps automation, and client-facing delivery experience. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and documenting secure, scalable infrastructure in AWS, while also building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines and supporting application deployment using Flux. The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver a high-quality technical outcome.
This role can be performed from Austin, TX in a Hybrid Model.
**Your future duties and responsibilities:**
Design and deploy AWS infrastructure components including VPCs, ALBs/NLBs, EC2, FSx, and EKS clusters.
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment.
• Implement GitOps workflows using Flux for Kubernetes-based application delivery.
• Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Develop system monitoring dashboards using Datadog and integrate alerting mechanisms.
• Create detailed documentation including:
• Operational playbooks
• VPN and PMaaS data flow diagrams
• IAM, KMS, and AD group configurations
• Conduct cost optimization reviews and implement efficiency improvements.
• Participate in daily standups, weekly progress reviews, and milestone-based delivery cycles.
• Collaborate with Thales stakeholders to validate deliverables and ensure alignment with project goals.
**Required qualifications to be successful in this role:**
At least 8+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and DevOps automation.
at least 5+ years of recent experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, midrange, and distributed environment.
Strong hands-on experience with:
3+ Yrs experience on GitLab CI/CD (pipelines, runners, integrations)
5+ Yrs experience on Terraform (modular IaC, remote state, workspaces)
2+ Flux for GitOps-based deployment
5+ Yrs experience on Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
Experience with TLS/SSL, IAM, routing, and secure networking.
Familiarity with 2+ yrs on Datadog or similar monitoring platforms.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage client-facing responsibilities.
Good to Have / Bonus Skills:
AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
Experience with GitOps, RBAC, and secure CI/CD practices
Familiarity with enterprise environments and regulated industries
Prior experience working with global technology firms
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required
Familiarity with Agile development methodology and concepts
Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies
Candidates should be self-starters and can work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $97,000.00 - $214,800.00
