About the Opportunity
Material Science at System and Technologies plays a crucial role in Research & Development at Ericsson, providing essential support to Sourcing and Supply. Our team offers expertise in material technology and processes, conducts comprehensive material tests, and serves as the central point of contact with suppliers and certification entities worldwide.
The materials we select significantly affect reliability, cost, performance, and embedded carbon. Thus, a deep understanding of material properties is essential for effective R&D in product development, encompassing a broad spectrum of disciplines such as mechanical and thermal design.
Ericsson is deeply committed to sustainability, and material properties are integral to achieving this goal. This position offers the opportunity to guide and drive initiatives toward optimal design choices that align with our sustainability objectives.
Your role will involve establishing and maintaining international supplier relationships, acquiring knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes, and strategically planning material and design flows to enhance the sustainability of Ericsson products.

What you will do
Develop strategies to address and reduce embedded carbon in Ericsson products and materialsLead, coordinate, and participate in company-wide programs and projectsDeliver comprehensive LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) reports for materials and productsProvide strategic guidance and recommendations for product development
What you will bring
A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Material Science, Chemistry, or Mechanics, with a strong foundation in life cycle assessments and sustainabilityOver 5 years of relevant industry experienceProficiency in using software tools for life cycle assessmentsAbility to manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously, demonstrating high autonomy, agility, and flexibilityLeadership or project management experienceExcellent English language skills, with some understanding of Swedish as a plusA keen interest in mechanical and product design is highly regarded
