Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Designer Civil & Structural with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

The Role

Specialist Designer in  Civil 3D Modelling  & extraction of earth work drawing including specific Detailing  10+ year experience in earthwork, site grading, roads, drainage, ponds, and above-ground pipeline corridors Experience in various coordinate systems and geodetic elevation references S3D/E3D Experience in 3D modelling and extraction Smart Sketch/E3D draft will be added advantage. 2D drawing in Microstation/AutoCAD  experience required Experience in at least one Oil & Gas project in Civil works Must have sound technical knowledge in Earth works Hands on experience on model review/Clash check in SPR/Navis review platform is advantageous.  Canadian Oil and Gas project experience will be added advantage

Technical / Domain Related Skills 

Experience working on heavy civil engineering projects with significant cut and fill Open pit mining Road corridors through varying terrain  Above-ground Pipeline corridors through varying terrain  Tailings projects, Ponds / Earthen dams Buried metal bridges (arch / culverts) Experience in production of  deliverables Processing topographic data (from LiDAR, satellite, ground surveys, etc.) for use on the projects. Generating 3D models for earthworks including site preparation, rough grading, final grading and surface drainage, ditches, ponds, roads, embankments using Civil 3D Develop cut / fill quantities from models Preparation of engineering deliverables within the scope assigned  Site preparation for cold climate area e.g. Northern Alberta, Canada (including rough grading of the plant site and pipeline corridors is added advantage Detailing of earth work deliverables for Access roads, haul roads and service roads along the pipeline corridors Drainage including culverts / storm water management of the plant site and along the pipeline corridors Experience in detailing Ponds - storm water drainage pond, emergency dump ponds including liner and leakage detection Experience in Erosion control and protection Experience in earth work related to Underground pipelines and utilities
