**Job Description**
As the Senior Designer for Brand License based in Shanghai, you are an excellent designer who is used to designing the end-to-end process. In this role, you will mainly be a custodian of the brand will uphold brand values, and guide and collaborate with partners that carry the Philips brand. Brand Licensing is the group in Philips responsible for managing the Philips brands licensed to a variety of companies. Ranging from established firms that have been a Philips partner for a long period, to smaller accounts that are new to the world of Philips. Your role is to ensure brand consistency and that the partners are following the highest quality standards when it comes to all design touchpoints, including, but not limited to: hardware, software, communication, and packaging design. You are joining the dynamic Product & Identity Platform team in the central Experience Design organization and will work with extended teams. Where appropriate, you will liaise and leverage the larger design organization, including Brand, software, and other teams, to make sure that your partners are exposed and follow the latest guidelines. You are entrepreneurial and strategic in nature. Solution-oriented and flexible in your approach.
In close collaboration with the BL product and marketing teams and in line with their business objectives in Philips brand governance, you:
* Proactively drive the quality of our brand expression through timely activation and facilitation at the right level with our license partners.
* Enable deployment of brand governance with appropriate tools and capabilities.
* Review the quality of the licensee’s brand expression across touchpoints.
* Review and sign off on Design Identity Documentation and facilitate Brand Identity creation
* Address any issues or opportunities around brand quality.
* Develop and maintain relationships with the GBL business partners.
* Develop and maintain relationships with licensees, design, and brand stakeholders.
* Align with other BL portfolios/teams where needed.
* Drive the Philips Design language on materials, finishing, product, and user interface design
**Job Responsibilities**

* Reviews and creates design solutions with a holistic approach, considers ecosystems and interdependencies, and ensures that the design addresses not only individual components but also their integration and impact within the broader context.
* Reviews and creates visuals and prototypes that articulate design concepts and interactions, refining them iteratively based on feedback received, ensuring alignment with user needs and project goals.
* Promotes effective collaboration by fostering co-creation approaches between Design and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment of goals and facilitating the exchange of ideas and perspectives to drive innovative solutions and enhance the overall user experience.
* Performs larger, more complex projects, possesses the ability to influence and create conducive conditions for success within the immediate environment, and demonstrates leadership and strategic thinking to drive impactful outcomes.
* Works within moderate complexity project constraints, including budget and time limitations, ensures high design quality standards are maintained, and demonstrates adeptness at delivering results promptly without compromising on excellence.
* Performs moderate customer and user experience research by conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, gathering insights crucial for informing design decisions and ensuring the creation of user-centric solutions.
* Initiates and carries out comprehensive analysis and research activities, uncovers deeper insights, contributes valuable input that drives the development of innovative and user-centered design solutions, and fosters growth and proficiency in both research methodologies and solution ideation.
* Acts as a field expert, takes ownership of knowledge creation and management within the organizational context, actively contributing to the advancement and dissemination of expertise to support organizational objectives and enhance collective understanding.
* Participating in quarterly business and functional performance reviews and all other BL team reviews throughout the calendar year.
* Contribute/participate in the BL team – support active contribution to the strategy, ways of working, and innovation agenda.
* Participate in the BL Design team – actively contribute to the ways of working, innovation agenda, and operational needs related to the design role and contribution.
**Minimum required Education & Skills:**
+ Bachelor's / Master's Degree in (Product) Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, UX Design, or equivalent.
+ 10 Years of Experience in the industry.
+ Great team worker. Excellent empathetic, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
+ Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
+ Excellent communication skills. Prolific in presenting and dealing with higher-level businesspeople as well as on-the-ground designers.
+ A consumer electronics design experience expert with knowledge of managing brand-based design programs and portfolios, preferably across different touchpoints including product, UX, packaging, and marketing materials
**How we work together**
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
