Join us. **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Design Manager - Infrastructure to lead our infrastructure design initiatives in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of complex infrastructure projects whilst managing a talented team of design professionals. Drawing on 15+ years of industry expertise, you will combine strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail, driving innovation and excellence across all infrastructure design endeavours and establishing best practices that elevate organisational capability. + Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of design engineers and architects, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing across the organisation + Develop and articulate comprehensive infrastructure design strategies and project plans that align with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term business vision + Analyse complex project requirements and constraints to create detailed design specifications, technical documentation, and construction drawings, leveraging 15+ years of domain expertise to anticipate and mitigate design challenges + Manage project portfolios, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery of infrastructure projects within scope and cost parameters, whilst optimising team productivity and capability development + Conduct rigorous risk assessments and implement comprehensive mitigation strategies to address potential design and construction challenges, drawing on extensive industry experience + Collaborate strategically with stakeholders, clients, and external partners to gather requirements, present innovative design solutions, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle + Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety standards, and sustainability practices applicable in Saudi Arabia, maintaining awareness of evolving regulatory landscapes + Review and approve design deliverables with authority, maintaining exceptional quality standards and technical accuracy across all project phases whilst establishing design governance frameworks + Utilise advanced design software and tools to create innovative solutions and optimise infrastructure performance, championing adoption of emerging technologies within the team + Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices to continuously improve design processes, methodologies, and organisational competitive positioning + Prepare and present strategic progress reports, comprehensive design reviews, and forward-thinking project recommendations to senior management and the board + Contribute to organisational thought leadership through industry engagement, mentoring of junior professionals, and advancement of infrastructure design practices **Qualifications** + 15+ years of professional experience in infrastructure design, engineering, or related field + 10+ years of proven leadership experience managing design teams, complex projects, and cross-functional initiatives + Advanced proficiency with CAD software, BIM (Building Information Modeling), and design visualization tools + Extensive knowledge of infrastructure systems, construction standards, design principles, and industry best practices + Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies, delivery frameworks, and strategic planning + Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to evaluate and resolve complex technical challenges + Comprehensive understanding of local and international building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements, with specific knowledge of Saudi Arabian standards + Extensive experience with budget management, cost estimation, resource planning, and financial oversight + Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is highly valued + Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail + Extensive experience with sustainability practices, green infrastructure design, and environmental compliance + Advanced knowledge of vendor management, procurement processes, and supply chain optimization for infrastructure projects + Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or infrastructure design is required + Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering multiple large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget + Strategic vision and ability to drive organizational innovation and continuous improvement in design processes **Additional Information** **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
