We’ve got what you’re looking for. **Job Description:** Parsons is looking for a **Senior Design Manager Infrastructure** to join our Jeddah/Makkah team. In this role you will be responsible for designing and delivering road infrastructure solutions for the project. This role involves developing road designs that integrate seamlessly with the urban master plan, ensuring efficient traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and accessibility for pilgrims and visitors. You will work on large-scale urban master plan projects, including high-rise developments, and ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and the unique cultural and religious sensitivities of Makkah. **What You'll Be Doing:** + Review and advise the design consultant on the development of detailed road designs, including layouts, alignments, cross-sections, and profiles, that align with the project’s master plan. + Ensure road designs accommodate high-density urban environments, including high-rise developments, public spaces, and pedestrian pathways. + Incorporate traffic flow optimization, parking solutions, and pedestrian safety measures into road designs. + Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure road designs integrate seamlessly with the overall master plan. + Design road networks that enhance accessibility to key areas, including the Holy Haram, cultural spaces, and public realms. + Address the unique needs of pilgrims and visitors, including crowd management and transportation efficiency during peak periods such as Hajj and Ramadan. + Ensure road designs comply with Saudi Arabian regulations, local municipal requirements, and international standards such as AASHTO and BS codes. + Conduct quality checks to ensure designs meet project specifications and safety standards. + Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals for road designs. + Supervise traffic studies and simulations to assess the impact of road designs on traffic flow and congestion. + Develop solutions to optimize vehicular and pedestrian movement, including intersections, roundabouts, and signalized crossings. + Insure the corporation of public transportation systems, such as bus stops and shuttle services, into road designs. + Promote sustainable road design practices, including the use of eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient lighting. + Incorporate smart city technologies, such as intelligent traffic management systems and real-time monitoring, into road designs. + Identify innovative solutions to enhance road functionality and reduce environmental impact. + Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of road designs, calculations, and specifications. + Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on the progress of road design activities. + Prepare reports and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions effectively. + Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, resolving design-related issues, and conducting site inspections. + Ensure road construction aligns with approved designs and specifications. + Address and resolve any design-related challenges that arise during construction. + Work closely with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure alignment on road design objectives. + Engage with cultural and religious experts to address sensitivities related to road designs near the Holy Haram. + Act as a liaison between the project team and regulatory authorities to facilitate approvals and resolve design-related issues. **What Required Skills You'll Bring:** + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. + Minimum 20 years of experience with Min.5 years in KSA in road design, with a proven track record of working on large-scale urban master plan projects, including high-rise developments. + Experience in designing road networks for high-density urban environments and culturally significant locations is highly desirable. + Proficiency in road design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Infra Works, MX Road, or similar tools. + Strong knowledge of road design standards, traffic engineering principles, and urban planning concepts. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. + Attention to detail and ability to develop accurate and efficient road designs. + Strategic thinking and ability to align road designs with organizational goals and master plan objectives. + Strong organizational and time management skills. + Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. + Deep understanding of cultural and religious sensitivities in Makkah. + Must be Muslim; Arabic language is preferred.
