The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of databases while supporting business applications and development teams. **Responsibilities** + Database Management + Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, and other DB platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). + Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations across environments. + Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. + Data Security & Compliance + Implement and maintain database security policies, user access controls, and encryption standards. + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX). + Backup & Recovery + Design and manage backup/recovery strategies. + Perform disaster recovery planning and testing. + Performance Optimization + Analyze query performance and optimize SQL code. + Configure indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies. + Collaboration & Support + Work closely with developers to design efficient schemas and queries. + Provide production support and troubleshoot database issues. + Document processes, standards, and best practices. **Requirements** Required + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. + 5+ years of experience as a DBA with Oracle and SQL Server. + Strong knowledge of relational database design, normalization, and indexing. + Proficiency in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, and TSQL. + Experience with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Profiler, etc.). + Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud). Preferred + Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra). + Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). + Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
