The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of databases while supporting business applications and development teams. **Key Responsibilities** + **Database Management** + Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, and other DB platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). + Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations across environments. + Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. + **Data Security & Compliance** + Implement and maintain database security policies, user access controls, and encryption standards. + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX). + **Backup & Recovery** + Design and manage backup/recovery strategies. + Perform disaster recovery planning and testing. + **Performance Optimization** + Analyze query performance and optimize SQL code. + Configure indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies. + **Collaboration & Support** + Work closely with developers to design efficient schemas and queries. + Provide production support and troubleshoot database issues. + Document processes, standards, and best practices. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. + 5+ years of experience as a DBA with Oracle and SQL Server. + Strong knowledge of relational database design, normalization, and indexing. + Proficiency in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, and T‑SQL. + Experience with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Profiler, etc.). + Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud). **Preferred Skills** + Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra). + Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). + Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. + Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. **Soft Skills** + Excellent communication and documentation abilities. + Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams. + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
