We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer/Developer to design, build, and optimize cloud native data solutions on GCP, with a strong focus on BigQuery. You’ll own high throughput data pipelines, efficient ELT/ETL workflows, and data services that power analytics, BI, and data science. While your core identity is data platform development, you are comfortable writing production grade Golang to build services, orchestration, and tooling around BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, and Cloud Storage. You’ll collaborate with product, analytics, and platform teams to deliver reliable, cost efficient, and observable data solutions at scale.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Design and maintain batch and streaming data workflows on GCP.
• Build ELT/ETL processes and reusable components leveraging BigQuery (partitioning, clustering, ingestion, transformation).
• Develop backend services, APIs, and tooling in Golang to support data ingestion, orchestration, and access
• Integrate with Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Run/Functions, and Cloud Storage for event driven and serverless workloads
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows
• Translate business and analytics requirements into technical designs and roadmaps.
• 5+ years in data or software development roles building production data solutions
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills; hands on BigQuery (partitioning, clustering, query tuning)
• Solid experience with GCP data services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub; familiarity with Cloud Run/Functions
• Proficiency in Golang (or readiness to work in Go) for services, tooling, and pipeline orchestration
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing in data contexts
• Familiarity with ELT/ETL patterns, distributed systems, and cost/performance optimization on cloud warehouses.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000–$120,000. This role is a future opportunity.
