Senior Data Engineer (Data Platform), your role entails working closely with various teams and leveraging your expertise in data engineering to create and sustain a resilient and high-performing data platform that caters to the organization's data requirements.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, optimize, and maintain a Data Platform that enables teams to build complex batch and streaming processes for moving and transforming data across both operational and analytic systemsDrive platform architecture decisions, lead design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product Managers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, Business teams) to build data products and enhance the data platformContribute to the development and optimization of our Event Driven Architecture, adding new features, improving performance, and enhancing user experienceChampion code quality, reusability, scalability, security and help make strategic architecture decisionsImplement processes and tools to ensure data quality, enforce data governance policies, and uphold engineering best practicesDevelop APIs and Microservices to expose and integrate data products with software systems
Qualifications
Completed BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field5+ years in data engineering building production-grade pipelines and platform capabilitiesacross batch and streamingExperience with various tools and technologies employed in Data Processing, Storage,Cataloging, Observability, and GovernanceStrong SQL and either Python or TypescriptExperience in assessing and implementing new data tools and frameworks to enhance thedata engineering stack and developer experienceIn-depth knowledge of data platform development, data warehousing, and data integrationKnowledge of DevOps principles, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containers/Kubernetes, Git-based workflows and CI/CDExperience with architecting solutions on AWS or equivalent public cloud platforms.Experience with developing data APIs, Microservices, and event driven systemsExperience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow / Temporal)Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience & Skills

Building self-service platformsIngestion/CDC/streaming: Kafka/MSK, Fivetran, DebeziumExperience working with protected HIPAA / PHI dataData quality, lineage, and observability practices; incident response and reliability engineeringExperience building ELT / ETL pipelines and data modelingFamiliarity with Snowflake, RDS, dbt, Airflow, Temporal, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform,DataDog, and Data Governance tools
