Work Your Magic with us!

Ready to explore, break barriers, and discover more? We know you’ve got big plans – so do we! Our colleagues across the globe love innovating with science and technology to enrich people’s lives with our solutions in Healthcare, Life Science, and Electronics. Together, we dream big and are passionate about caring for our rich mix of people, customers, patients, and planet. That's why we are always looking for curious minds that see themselves imagining the unimaginable with us.

Do you enjoy designing robust pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and enabling scientists to unlock insights from complex datasets? Are you interested in building scalable data infrastructure that power cutting-edge biological research? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Join our growing Data Team at HUB Organoids, where you’ll help shape the technical foundation for our organoid biobank, support internal R&D, and enable data-driven services for clients.

Role Overview

You’ll be joining a newly formed data team of engineers and analysts, currently focused on building scalable infrastructure for biological data. As our Senior Data Engineer, you’ll lead the development of cloud-native data architecture and engineering practices, working closely with consultants and internal stakeholders. While platform engineering will be a major focus initially, we’re looking for someone who’s equally excited to build and own data pipelines—especially those supporting workflows for biological/research data.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a scale-up environment, collaborate across scientific and technical teams, and help shape the future of data at HUB Organoids.

What you’ll do

Design and implement scalable data pipelines for biological datasets (e.g. omics, imaging, QC assays, metadata) in collaboration with scientists and analysts

Lead the development of cloud infrastructure (Azure), including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform

Set up and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) to support reproducible and automated deployments

Drive the transition from on-premise systems to secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-based solutions

Build and maintain databases, APIs, and internal tools to support data discovery and access across teams

Collaborate with bioinformaticians to productionize analytical workflows and integrate them into the platform

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team-wide coding and engineering best practices

What you’ll bring

6+ years of experience in data engineering, ideally in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare

Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (preferably Azure) as well as in scripting (e.g. Python, R, Bash, PowerShell, SQL)

Experience building Extract Load Transform / Extract Transform Load (ELT/ETL) pipelines and working with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Azure Data Factory)

Familiarity with data lake(house) architectures and scalable storage solutions

Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g. CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git)

Understanding of security and compliance in cloud environments (e.g. IAM, secrets management, network policies)

Interest or experience in bioinformatics workflows and tools is a strong plus

Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with cross-functional teams

Why join us?

Be part of a mission-driven company at the forefront of organoid technology

Lead the development of foundational infrastructure for biological data

Collaborate with scientists, bioinformaticians, and engineers on impactful projects

Help shape the future of data at HUB Organoids

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and grow your skills across domains

A one year contract, with outlook on a permanent position
