We are looking for an accomplished Senior Data Engineer to architect and oversee the data foundation of a major strategic application platform. This role plays a critical part in shaping and maintaining a scalable, secure, and business-aligned data architecture—particularly within an application-centric environment, where data flows are tightly integrated with specific systems and business processes.
You will collaborate closely with Senior and Lead Engineers across Integration, Front-End, and Platform teams to ensure that data models and interfaces are robust, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise goals. A deep understanding of application-centric data architecture is essential to navigate legacy constraints while driving modernization and integration efforts.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Design Scalable Data Architectures: Create robust data models and architectures for complex applications.
Data Integration: Develop strategies for integrating data across systems, including APIs, ETL pipelines, and middleware.
Governance & Compliance: Implement data governance policies and ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).
Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data solutions.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune data flows, queries, and storage for optimal performance.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data models, flows, and architecture decisions.
Mentorship: Guide engineers and developers, promoting best practices in data design and management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer, or Information Technology discipline, or a related engineering/computer field
Practical experience using GenAI (Claude/CoPilot/Gemini) with a good understanding of subagents, MCP and controls; used to support the design, development, testing.
Experience: 7+ years in data architecture/engineering, with a focus on application-level data design.
Technical Proficiency: SQL and NoSQL databases
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Data modelling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, PowerDesigner)
ETL tools and data pipelines
API design and integration
Desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Change Management experience is a plus.
Systems and business architecture knowledge is a plus.
Ability to take minimal direction and work independently with high precision/quality of output.
Degree qualified in business management or a related discipline and qualification in technology.
Experience working with teams across multiple countries.
