The Global Performance Measurement Team is responsible for deploying, managing and maintaining performance measurement solutions that supports Global Finance and Risk Technology (GFRT) partners within Scotiabank catering to various business lines and enterprise finance functions
The Senior Data Engineer leads cost-efficient, effective, and timely development (i.e. systems enhancements), user testing, implementation, administration, maintenance, and production support for GFRT applications. The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining best practices and procedures and oversees the management and completion of special projects, ad hoc analysis, and reporting requests.
In this role you will:
1. Lead and project manage financial systems initiatives and projects, by:
Identifying, prioritizing and managing project plans (e.g. user agreements and sign-offs, resource requirements and key deliverables) Developing business case proposals, steering committee or executive management presentations Gathering requirements across pertinent user and stakeholder groups Designing system solutions and gaining acceptance from key stakeholders Providing a leadership and champion role in change management, communication and training regarding newly developed, acquired or enhanced financial system initiatives
2. Lead the identification, assessment, and evaluation of technology solutions to support GFRT applications.
3. Manage systems production, administration, and maintenance for GFRT systems, including:
Maintaining high quality and reliability in performance, availability, capacity, timeliness and connectivity of systems and reporting Ensuring consistency and integration between the various financial measurement systems and reporting Participating in the review of critical system problems and recommending viable solutions Developing, maintaining and managing efficient and reliable production processes Managing the resolution of system and reporting performance and connectivity issues
4. Execute ongoing process and service re-design and continuous improvement
5.Work collaboratively with peers, IT&S Area clients, and vendors on projects
6. Provide strong leadership to motivate and develop individual and team performance
