About The Role

As Snr Trade Marketing Manager for On Premise channel, you will be part of the Commercial Excellence Glass Spirits team, reporting into Head of Commercial Excellence Glass Spirits. You will sit right at the heart of our On Premise business, working as a key business partner to the Diageo On Prem Commercial Team, our customers, whilst being a very influential voice of the channel to your brand, innovation & agency stakeholders, helping ensure customer and consumer voice is involved in our marketing plans early on.
The purpose of this role is to ensure we are building our brands effectively across the On Premise & Events channel, positioning our portfolio at the forefront of consumer culture both now & looking into the future, whilst activating in unique & distinctive ways that set us apart from our competition.
Working closely with our brand teams & agencies you will help develop programs/activities that maximise our A&P investment both for Diageo & our partners. Leveraging our strong portfolio of brands & deep On Premise understanding you will ensure we have the right brands, in the right venues, in the right way to deliver win-win business outcomes for all.
Working alongside the On-Premise leadership group you will help lead the creation & execution of On-Premise Channel Strategies for our brands and will be leading the conversion of these strategies into a strong trade plan. You will be responsible for creating and managing point of sale campaigns, defining in-venue ‘picture of success’, and how to maximise the pre-during-post consumer journey into venues/events
Equally, you will play a pivotal role in elevating our strategic customer partnerships across the channel. Working closely with On Premise NAM’s to add a new dimension of activation & category expertise to strengthen our relationships, driving consumers into venue, elevating beverage experiences & increasing spend per head. You will be facing key customers for JBPs, sharing category strategies, rooted with insights, and will be co-creating joint growth platforms, in partnership with On Premise Channel teams.
Key Tasks / Accountabilities
Build & own a 1-9-90 rolling activation plan for our large, branded point of sale/digital campaigns across the On Trade channelOwnership of overall Brand A&P spend & prioritisation into the channel, supporting key platforms & activations across brands and provide visibility back to business on levels of channel executionStrong cross functional voice of channel across the business, regularly updating on customer or category insights, opportunities, risksLead & Shape the role of On Premise retail media partnerships for our brands in the On premiseFunnel existing category, customer and shopper insights to translate category strategies into On Premise Channel Strategies. Provide input/demands to the learning plan creation and leverage Diageo network to use similar market examples as insights.Work with commercial and marketing teams and facilitate prioritization of brand plans according to strategies and define details of in-venue deliverables.Regularly visit key strategic customers, venues (as defined) to elevate our partnerships to maximise our venue A&P investmentLead and/or oversee the implementation of all unique On Premise platforms & activations such as Diageo Bar Academy, World Class, Hyble, NPD Launches,Develop and execute in venue picture of success and visibility toolkits that make our brands show up brilliantly to customers & consumersStrong contributor to the On-Premise leadership team, driving culture/engagement, boldness & strategic thinking.Contributor to the delivery of On-Premise commercial objectives & goalsOwn the delivery of technical specifications and agency management where relevantConduct M&E activity to ensure we are constantly improving our plans and spending funds effectivelyLine management responsibility for 1 x Customer Marketing Exec – On PremQualifications
8+ years’ experience in Beverage Industries in commercial teams, with On-Premise experience and preferably with trade marketing experienceProject Management, Analytical and Core selling skillsStrong commercial acumen & ability to analyse/interpret data & insightsProven experience of working effectively with external customersStrong direct and indirect influencing skills across senior cross functional stakeholdersTime management & prioritisation skillsCan build powerful relationships and work collaboratively within a teamProblem solver & solution-based team player who can deal with ambiguity & adapt quicklyCan speak & write in English fluentlyWhat are the benefits?
