Senior Credit Analyst

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join our team.  In this role you will work with higher exposure customer accounts in the portfolio. You will be responsible for assisting internal sales teams with revenue generation by analyzing customers’ credit worthiness and approving credit limits within the guidelines established by Senior Finance Management. In addition, you will review customer accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to the company.

This is a hybrid position, with in-office presence required 1-2 days a week based at either our Chicago, IL or Rolling Meadows, IL office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

Conducts in-depth analysis and research for higher exposure accounts.

Owns and processes new and existing commercial account review requests

Works independently with minimal guidance while reviewing large/complex customer group ("B" level) credit limit requests. 

Completes in depth research for complex accounts

Develops and maintains relationships with mid-level sales management 

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Oversees monthly distribution, reviews Dunn & Bradstreet report, and processes Service Level Agreement within 10 business days

Reviews delegated accounts from high exposure report

Work on credit related projects as assigned. 

Requests updated quarterly review documentation from customers as part of performing scheduled reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Minimum 4 years of unsecured commercial credit evaluation or related experience.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field from an accredited college or university

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

Experience with D&B product lines 

Extensive financial statement analysis experience. 

Understanding how market, industry and financial trends will impact credit worthiness

Financial statement analysis experience

Experience interpreting various credit scores and debt ratings

Knowledge of bankruptcies

Comfortable conveying message to Sales Leadership that outlines facts and a decision contrary to what they are lobbying for.

Ability to know how customers differ depending on size and ownership

Comfortable in dealing with determined salespeople

Confident talking to senior leadership both in house as well as at the customer

Effective and flexible communication, and organizational skills

Able to document and defend reasoning behind a decision (approval or denial)

Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment

Ability to work independently and on a team

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Good analytical, observational, and decision-making skills

Strong attention to detail

Ability to motivate and encourage change, able to get positive results in a very large, dispersed organization

Compensation Range

$53,900.00 - $112,000.00

The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
