Your ‘day to day’:
This role is for the position of Senior Counsel in PMI’s Litigation and Investigations Group, which is part of PMI’s global Legal, Ethics & Compliance (“LEC”) Department. The Litigation and Investigations Group is responsible for, managing litigation of company-wide significance, including high-stakes commercial matters and product liability litigation, leading and conducting internal investigations, and providing litigation advisory and support services on a range of corporate matters to Philip Morris International Inc. and its affiliates globally. We are seeking a seasoned legal professional with excellent judgment and a demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation and provide strategic guidance to business and functional leaders across the organization. The role-holder will report to the Assistant General Counsel – Litigation and Investigations, who is based in Stamford, CT.
Manage and drive successful resolutions in cases of company wide-significance, including high-value commercial disputes, regulatory litigation involving the Company’s products, antitrust litigation, and other significant matters.Together with other members of PMI’s Litigation & Investigations group, develop and execute the Company’s litigation strategy across a range of matters and issuesLead or participate in significant internal investigations.Assist in the identification, selection, and management of outside counsel to assure legal services that are results-oriented, timely, competent, and cost efficient.Collaborate with other groups in the LEC Department and other business functions across the Company as needed that have expertise in the subject matter of the litigation.Anticipate, identify and mitigate potential legal risk across a wide area of subject matters and business activities.Stay current with legal developments and best practices in the relevant areas of law.Act as a team player and role model for the legal function, encouraging collaboration and standards of excellence.Carry out other duties as assigned.

Who we’re looking for:
Juris Doctor and licensed to practice law in one or more states in the United States.Eight plus years of complex litigation experience in industry or private practice as a minimum. The ideal candidate will have superb credentials and have had significant experience in the litigation department of a top U.S. law firm. Experience working in the in-house litigation department of a top U.S. company is likewise preferred, although not required.Experience in commercial disputes (arbitration and litigation), class action litigation, and product liability matters preferred.Experience of working in or advising clients in a highly regulated industry is desirable.Ability to travel as necessary.
Annual Base Salary Range: $232,000 - $300,000
