As a Senior Manager for Supply Chain Cost Out Initiatives in Amazon Shipping you will play a strategic role across operational teams, working cross-functionally to drive results, generating savings, optimize the supply chain and oversee multiple critical supply chain programs. As a Supply Chain Manager, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and optimization and then delivering is your mission. Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across business lines, you’ll continuously be scoping out new solutions. You’ll conduct your own research and analysis, always with an eye on the long-term vision of the business. This exciting role is within the EU Amazon Shipping team, offering a unique opportunity to Drive Results, Invent and Simplify and Think Big to make a significant impact.
Key job responsibilities
Take a big-picture approach in analysis of business operations, identifying cost savings across a range of teams and organizations.
Create innovative solutions using data and research to address wider cost challenges in the organization.
Build solutions that work at scale across the EU, leveraging existing teams’ knowledge and infrastructure.
Work alongside leadership teams to establish and prioritize cost saving opportunities, seeing them through from start to finish.
Ensure operational continuity, excellence and the ability to scale in partnership with stakeholders
A day in the life
As a Supply Chain Manager, you’ll focus on our end to end network often with a laser focus on a specific mile. You will look for opportunities to drive cost savings of Amazon Shipping into the existing network. You will need to influence multiple teams and will build expertise in the end to end network to ensure that cost out initiatives are being built in a sustainable way. You’ll use strategic thinking to define, implement and influence. You’ll deal with complex challenges with creativity, innovation, and leadership.
About the team
Amazon shipping offers Amazon’s logistic capabilities as a product and service. Amazon Shipping’s first customers are sellers in the UK, offering to ship their domestic volume using our delivery network.
This is a great opportunity to join an entrepreneurial business that is growing at pace. You will be part of the core team that will be managing the Amazon Shipping business and operations across all legs of the supply chain (first mile, middle mile and last mile). The team are focused on delivering friction free processes for end to end operations and a seamless absorption into our existing network.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in program/product management, operations, finance, or related business roles
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Strong analytical, program/product management, and financial modelling skills
- Track record of earning trust and influencing without authority across multiple stakeholder groups
- Sharp attention to detail and dive deep skills
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and distilling complexity into simple, pragmatic recommendations
- Excellence in senior-level written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Given the cross-organizational nature of the role, the ideal candidate will be a tenured Amazonian with Finance, Operations, or Retail experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Quicksight or similar analytical tools beneficial
- Experience managing P&L or large-scale cost optimization programs with demonstrated impact
- Understanding of supply chain optimization
