What this job involves:

We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Abu Dhabi for a data center project, providing expert technical and commercial support across all project phases. This role requires a qualified engineer with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, combined with strong commercial acumen to manage costs, contracts, and procurement activities from inception to completion.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Update and maintain the Employers electronic cost management system in real-timeNegotiate and agree ROM/variation values with contractors (subject to Employer approval)Coordinate, assist and lead the change management process for all variations and instructions; Review and assist/respond to contractor RFIs, variations, and change requestsProvide early warning advice / ROM on potential cost overruns or opportunities and prepare substantiation for proposed variation orders for Employer approvalChair commercial, budget, and cost meetingsMonitor compliance with contractual obligations and Key Performance IndicatorsMaintain register of variation orders with approval status and costsMaintain and monitor registers of insurances, bonds, guarantees, and payments with status and relevant detailsMonitor and report on cost performance against the Project BudgetMaintain comprehensive records of all commercial correspondence and documentationMonitor and update the Risk and Opportunity Register with cost implications

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

CostX measurement software or similar– Advanced proficiency in digital takeoff and measurement.Advanced Microsoft Excel and project management software.Familiarity with BIM software and MEP modeling tools.Experience with cost databases and benchmarking tools.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 8-10 years experience in contract and cost management within the Middle East construction market. Minimum 3 years in a senior QS role managing complex MEP projects.Strong knowledge of regional construction contracts (FIDIC EPC, design and build).
