What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Job Summary
The Senior Coordinator Transportation works in outbound warehouse operations and is responsible for the management of all orders via the order warehouse management system, email and telephone. This job prioritizes orders based on customer demands and collaborates with the dispatch team to determine optimal transport methods (private fleet, courier, etc.). The Senior Coordinator Transportation clusters orders and strategically issues them to the warehouse for picking/ packing in an effort to effectively manage capacity. This role collaborates cross functionally with sales representatives and marketing to meet the needs of the customer and maintain customer satisfaction and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Reviews and optimizes customer orders in Warehouse Management Systems before releasing orders to warehouse for picking​. Optimization includes consideration for order weight, cube and transportation route density.Works with Transportation Consultants and Carriers to confirm routes​, driver availability and their hours of service, along with equipment availability​.Collaborates with operations team to maintain and confirm customer delivery requirements and any operational needs​.Ensure all rush orders flow are processed according to standard operating procedureFollows up on customer requestsDrive efficiency and assist in budget accountability, identifies savings opportunities

Qualifications

1-4 years of warehouse coordinator experience preferred2 years of transportation experience preferredHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferredEfficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Teams)Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skillsPrior experience working with Warehouse Management Systems preferred1-4 years of material handling equipment experience (reach truck, counterbalance, order picker) preferred
