We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to become a part of multinational and high-performance engineering team delivering automation solutions for the Offshore energy sector. This role will focus on both implementing automation solutions for energy sector and supporting development, client relationships and developing project execution strategies.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in process automation, computerized systems validation, and project management in energy sector.
As a Senior Controls Engineer in Automation and Software, you will be responsible for:
- Participating in design, development and commissioning of automation systems for offshore deployment.
- Integrating IT and plant automation systems.
- Defining validation programs and strategies for automation systems.
- Identifying and managing technical risks across projects portfolio, cooperating with Project Managers on project scopes and schedule.
- Leading overall compliance and quality of projects.
- Supporting interfaces with Client / Vendor on project technical requirements
- Providing at-hoc support for fault detection and troubleshooting of control systems operating offshore.
- Co-operating with multidisciplinary engineering teams ( electronics, electrical engineering, hydraulic and systems engineering ) to ensure compliance of technical solutions with Client requirement and both company and industrial standards.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bring master’s degree in Automation and Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant
- Have poven, hands-on experience in industrial automation, including leading automation tasks within the team. Experience with multiple automation system platforms including PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA systems (preferable solutions from Allen Bradley Control Logix, Beckhoff, Siemens S7, Proficy Cimplicity, AVEVA InTouch, Ignition SCADA)
- Have proven experience with industrial networks and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, CAN, as well as with OPC technology and OPC servers in industrial systems.
- Be able to read and interpret electrical and process and instrumentation drawings.
- Demonstrate effective organizational, time management and planning skills
- Demonstrate a focus on customer service and attention to detail.
- Have willingness to travel internationally (up to 15%) including travelling offshore
- Be fluent in English on both verbal and written communication, knowledge of Polish language is preferred
- Proven experience with virtualization of PC-based control systems( VMWare vSphere, Microsoft HyperV technologies) is preferred
