At AECOM, we’re currently recruiting a Senior Contracts Manager to join our team in Dublin.
The Senior Contracts Manager will be based on site for three days per week, with the remaining two days worked remotely.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll provide commercial and contractual expertise across major projects, supporting delivery from tender stage through to final account.
What you’ll do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:
Ensure full alignment with the Contracting Entity’s Contract Management standards, confirming compliance with the selected contract suite (e.g. NEC) and the overall programme requirements.
Provide assurance that contract administration activities fully comply with contractual terms and Contract Management standards, identifying, managing, and reporting any instances of non-compliance.
Manage and develop effective commercial relationships with Contractors and Consultants, promoting collaborative ways of working and continuous improvement in the delivery of works and services.
Review and advise on draft contracts to ensure they are fit for purpose and appropriately tailored to individual projects, coordinating input from legal, technical, and financial advisors as required.
Lead contractual negotiations and provide commercial and contractual guidance to Project Managers, Service Managers, and Programme Directors.
Review and approve subcontractors and subcontract documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.
Certify payments, including detailed assessment of Defined Costs under NEC Option C and Option E contracts.
Audit Contractors’ and Consultants’ accounts to ensure costs are accurately recorded and claimed in line with the contract.
Review cost forecasts prepared by Contractors or Consultants and assess pain/gain share mechanisms for NEC Option C and Option D contracts.
Undertake delay damages assessments and calculations where required.
Develop and implement category- and programme-level contract management strategies, and review and approve individual contract management plans.
Set KPI targets within NEC Incentive Schedules and monitor Contractor and Consultant performance against agreed measures.
Establish and maintain KPI libraries for assigned categories and programmes.
Review and approve performance evaluations for Contractors and Consultants and oversee the development and implementation of performance improvement plans where required.
Build, manage, and support a team of Contract Administrators, fostering strong collaboration across the wider project team.
Review Compensation Event submissions, including Early Warning notifications and quotations, and provide recommendations to the Project Manager and/or Service Manager.
Review applications for payment to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Provide assurance of RFI and RFT tender documentation, including conditions of contract, amendments, and Contracting Entity–specific Z clauses.
Provide oversight and assurance of tendering and evaluation processes through to the appointment of Contractors and Consultants.
QualificationsReady to push the limits of what’s possible?
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in our primary infrastructure markets, including aviation.
As the successful candidate, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:
Postgraduate qualification, ideally in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying
Extensive experience in contract management, including a minimum of three years’ experience working with NEC contracts
A strong track record delivering infrastructure and/or aviation projects
Proven capability in performance monitoring, claims management and commercial reporting
