Join our client - a leading energy company in Papua New Guinea as a Senior Contracts Engineer, where your expertise in contract negotiation and management will play a crucial role in supporting their strategic LNG operations.

Role Overview

Contract Strategy Development: Collaborate with DUET counterparts to create and validate contract strategies and manage the bidding process. Bid Analysis and Negotiation: Analyze commercial bids and negotiate terms in partnership with legal and technical representatives. Contract Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive contract dossiers, ensuring compliance with HSE policies and company procedures. Market Research: Maintain an updated list of qualified contractors and suppliers, conducting market studies to assess potential bids. Contract Committee Participation: Arrange and attend Contracts Committee Meetings to validate strategies and pre-qualify bidders. Due Diligence: Ensure contractor due diligence is completed prior to contract awards using official tools. Performance Monitoring: Monitor ongoing contracts, participate in claims discussions, and review supplier performance. Database Management: Input all contracts and supplier data into the contracts database (AGORA). Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with various operational and functional entities to establish contractual documents.

Skills & Qualifications

Contract Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts effectively. Contract Management: Strong skills in managing contracts throughout their lifecycle. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze bids and assess market responses critically. HSE Compliance: Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to contracts. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective collaboration. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities in contract-related issues.

Education & Experience

Qualifications: Business, Engineering, or Law degree. Experience: Over 8 years of professional experience in contract management or related fields.
