The Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading high visibility, high stakes quality improvement projects from conception through to completion; additionally, this role is responsible for raising organizational competency in formal Continuous Improvement thinking through consulting, curriculum development and delivery, and leadership of outreach events. The individual will both use and teach Continuous Improvement disciplines intended to: identify and hone understanding of business problems and their root causes; devise, test, and implement cost-effective solutions to them; deliver and sustain measurable, meaningfully improved quality, financial, and operational outcomes.  

This role requires excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and exceptional interpersonal, rapport-building capabilities. Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects and timelines. This individual will work under Good Clinical Practices, Good Clinical Data Management Practices, and other FDA regulations and guidelines. Must be able to travel up to 10% per year. Requires the ability to sit or stand while working on a computer for a long period of time. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

 Leads Continuous Improvement project teams in the execution of the following: 

Research and document business processes via informational interviewing, process & driver diagramming, cycle timing 

Partnership with Clinical Information Analysts in the development of relevant project measures and targets 

Convene project team for Rapid Process Improvement Workshop (RPIW/Kaizen event) 

Use CI tools and techniques (Lean, IHI Model for Improvement) to identify, test, and implement improvements 

Provides regular project updates and report-outs to business stakeholder, sponsorship and leadership groups 

Leads and facilitates Continuous Improvement program outreach and advocacy events 

Co-leads Continuous Improvement curriculum and program development through creation of educational content 

Serves as internal ad hoc CI/process analysis consultant 

Required Qualification:  

Bachelors (± 13 years) Industrial Engineering, Health Sciences preferred OR Equivalent combination of education and work experience 

Minimum 2 years formal Quality/Continuous Improvement work (Lean, Six Sigma) -Institute for Healthcare Imporvement (IHI Model for Improvement) strongly preferred.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

Experience applying Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Model for Improvement in structured QI work 

Experience with Statistical Process Control analysis and tools (e.g. Minitab) 

Experience with Business Intelligence/reporting platforms (e.g. PowerBI) 

Experience working in a Regulated Industry  



The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
