Reporting to Superintendent - Innovation and Technology, the Senior Content Designer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality learning, operational, and safety content that supports workforce capability across Lumwana Mining Company. The role ensures that all learning materials i.e. digital, print, video, and interactive are user-centred, accurate, engaging, and aligned to LMC’s safety standards and operational requirements. The position spearheads content strategy, modern learning design, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance training effectiveness across the site.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Design, develop, and review training materials including manuals, e-Learning modules, video scripts, assessments and competency documentation.
Ensure all content aligns with LMC’s training strategy, operational requirements, and statutory compliance standards.
Design learning pathways, modules, and instructional materials.
Conduct content audits to ensure accuracy, currency, and alignment to process changes, safety procedures, and regulatory obligations.
Translate complex technical information into clear, accessible, user-friendly learning materials.
Lead the adoption of modern design methodologies including microlearning, scenario-based learning, and multimedia storytelling.
Collaborate with SMEs, trainers, supervisors, and operational teams to source accurate information and validate content.
Ensure consistent formatting, terminology, and structure across all learning materials.
Drive continuous improvement in content development processes and standards.
Coordinate multimedia production activities including storyboards, filming, editing, graphic design, and voice-overs.
Create visual assets for e-learning, presentations, and reports that align with company branding
Develop templates, guidelines, and SOPs for consistent site-wide learning content production.
Provide coaching to trainers and content creators on instructional design and content development best practices.
Upload and update learning materials on the Learning Management System (LMS).
Contribute to digital learning innovation including VR/AR, interactive simulations, and mobile learning tools.
Support internal and external audit requirements by maintaining compliant and evidence-based documentation.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Minimum Diploma in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Multimedia Design, or related field.
Professional certificates in eLearning design, instructional design, multimedia production, or digital content development are an advantage.
3 years’ experience in content development, instructional design, or corporate learning
Good computer skills with the ability to use Authoring Tools.
Experience with LMS Systems and content development.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
