Major Duties
• Have strategic experience, and ability to see the BIG picture.
• Hard Core planning & management of Transport Operations.
• Standardize operations & reporting processes.
• Oversee statutory compliances, governance & Risk Analysis, etc.
• Create initiatives, new projects & minimize cost of operations.
• Be a strong People Manager – provide guidance and strong leadership.
• Strong handle on costs and ability to make the function efficient and effective.
• Be able to liaise with Government, NASSCOM - bring about changes at policy level.
• Provide guidance to MIS teams on dashboards, reporting.
• Compliances, controls and audits. Have working knowledge of MS Excel and ensure adherence.
• Develop a transport communication strategy and develop an image of efficiency.
• Relationship Management across businesses, with senior stake holders, managers, vendor's and other's.
• Change Management – Implement the changes in the policy in a planned manner without impacting operations.
• Vendor Management- Strong vendor management skills to ensure delivery as per SLAs.
Knowledge/Skills
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Transport Operations
• Experience in project implementation.
• High Analytical Ability –Budgeting, costing, reviews to management & MIS.
• Creating Business Continuity Planning strategy and prior experience in handling sudden & multiple BCP situations.
• Strategically negotiate/deal with Transport Suppliers & Procurement
• Peripheral knowledge of Labor laws
• Ability to think ahead and create contingency plans
• Provide strong leadership & lucid directions in crisis situations
• Adaptability to corporate world, flat decision hierarchy & working with juniors
• Must be very articulate in written & verbal communication
• Must have irreproachable character, high integrity & extreme honesty
• Have excellent inter-personal communication & presentation skills
• Technical knowledge of transport/fleet management
