What you'll be doing
The Insider Risk team seeks to deter, detect, and respond to internal threats by investigating and responding to risk events that may be perpetrated or facilitated by an insider. Insider risk comes from within the bank or from anyone with access to critical CIBC locations, systems, or information. While insider risks can be malicious and intentional, most are accidental and unintentional.
The Senior Consultant, Insider Risk Technology Lead will report to the Director, Insider Risk Intelligence and Insights Program, Corporate Security. This role will be responsible for leading a function for Insider Risk to have direct, sustained and repeatable access to necessary data streams relevant to identifying insider activity. The role will manage technology and data governance, data sharing agreements, JIRAs, all Insider Risk applications, as well as records and activities relating to technology. This role is also accountable for various technology roadmaps and the various integrations needed for Insider Risk applications and projects. The Senior Consultant, Insider Risk Technology Lead is responsible for supporting the overall mandate of the Insider Risk Program.

How you'll succeed
Leveraging Insider Risk technology Serve as the main liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams for insider risk intelligence initiatives. Lead the gathering and documentation of business requirements for system enhancements and new features. Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality delivery of system updates. Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and coordinate swift resolution. Ensure the system complies with regulatory, privacy, and security standards. Develop and maintain user documentation, training materials, and communication plans. Stakeholder Management and relationship Building: Collaborate with risk, compliance, IT, and data analytics teams to align system capabilities with business needs. Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders. Regular contact with management and internal stakeholders, including technology and cyber teams. Regular contact with Insider Risk and Corporate Security peers. Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers as required. Support data governance activities such as creation, review, and management of data sharing agreements with internal and external partners. Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize processes and system functionality. Manage and track tasks, issues, and enhancements using JIRA or similar project management tools. Oversee business as usual (BAU) operations of insider risk applications, ensuring stability and performance. Maintain accurate records of system activities, changes, and compliance-related documentation.
Who you are
You can demonstrate experience in information security management, the general regulatory environment, and (for internal candidates) CIBC’s internal policies and procedures covering the identified areas. You have strong understanding of insider risk, cybersecurity, and risk intelligence concepts is an asset. You have proven experience in technology coordination or business analysis roles, preferably within financial services. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Excellent problem-solving and issue resolution skills. Strong project management capabilities, including experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to data privacy and information security. Proficiency in business process documentation and requirements gathering. Experience with JIRA or similar project/task management tools. Understanding of data sharing agreements and records management best practices. Experience managing BAU operations for critical business applications. Experience working with data analytics, reporting tools, or risk management platforms is an asset. Knowledge of Actimize, MS Purview, DTEX and Sentinel is considered an asset.You have a degree/diploma in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fieldYou know that details matter.
