**Overview of Position Description**
Senior Consultants support the development, design, and delivery of public health, population health and high-quality research studies across Federal, State and Local government clients. A Senior Consultant supports assignments ranging in complexity from pre-sales, proposal development, developing study protocols, to data management, conducting statistical analysis, ensuring data quality, dissemination, and scientific rigor across all facets of epidemiology projects. The Senior Consultant will serve as a key supporting role on all client research projects, assists in refining key objectives and approaches, answers client questions, and contribute to the analyses, writing and synthesis or research questions and reports. The Senior Consultant will also support client engagement and contracts by utilizing scientific expertise to gain a good understanding of research questions and provide evidence-based consulting to turn healthcare data into insights and solutions. He/she will help drive new business by supporting the development and publication of abstracts, white papers, peer-reviewed publications, and conference presentations that facilitate further client engagements and to represent IQVIA.
**Responsibilities**
+ Provides scientific consulting and guidance to support clients in scoping projects and shaping research questions and methods by reviewing and providing relevant epidemiological and project-specific comments to guide study designs, statistical analysis plans and analysis output.
+ Utilizes epidemiological knowledge and review of the literature to synthesize, design and deliver sound observational research studies.
+ Conducts literature review and synthesize key gaps in research areas of interest to support proposal development, address client questions and assist synthesizing and in writing research reports to support key deliverables.
+ Applies epidemiologic principles throughout the life cycle of observational Real-world Data (RWD) studies from study concept until final study report delivery; develops other scientific communications such as abstracts and manuscripts; and contributes expertise to study planning, study delivery, and study results interpretation.
+ Collaborates with team members to design and write protocols, supports the Real-World Insights (RWI) team in compiling and developing clients query management, study data specifications, analytical and statistical plans, and report preparation, and in any publications that may arise from the study.
+ Uses data science and epidemiology expertise to impart understanding of IQVIA’s data coverage and caveats, design of analyses and studies, and interpretation of findings.
+ Acts as trusted partner to government clients to evaluate emerging public health and population health issues; understands the impact of various exposures on health outcomes to enable evidence-based practice within health care settings and improve overall patient health outcomes.
+ Reviews and analyzes client requirements and develops insightful, value add proposals; communicates with clients to develop and present client- and project-specific solutions and recommendations.
+ Helps develop and/or elevate new business opportunities through the identification of follow-on work and new leads.
+ Conducts data extraction, data cleaning and editing including maintaining data formatting and statistical programs for repeat analyses.
+ Responsible for producing data tables, figures, and results from statistical analyses to support client-facing research reports, conference abstracts and manuscripts for publication.
+ Supports the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, and oral presentations, including development of slides and posters for presentation of project results at conferences.
+ Provides methodology and analytic consultation to practice leaders, principals, engagement managers and other government solutions team in assessing and pursuing new business opportunities.
+ Supports contract/project kick off meetings, presentations, and client-facing documentation such as study protocols, reports, and other client facing documents.
+ Provides technical project management oversight.
**Requirements, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge**
+ PhD or ScD in Epidemiology or Population Health preferred.
+ MPH or MSc in Epidemiology or Population Health required with 2+ years of post-graduate work experience in Real-World Evidence (RWE) with advanced knowledge of epidemiology and statistical methods.
+ Experience in designing and executing prospective or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses.
+ Evidence of previous experience utilizing large-scale anonymous patient level retrospective healthcare databases.
+ Evidence of previous experience independently conducting research studies from conception to synthesis, including proficiency in data analysis skills and use of statistical software to conduct data editing, quality control and assurance as generating descriptive and analytical tables and visuals.
+ Excellent presentation and writing skills.
+ Working knowledge of Federal agencies, such as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its Operating Divisions (e.g., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, etc.), the Defense Health Agencies (DHA), Veteran’s Health administration (VHA) and/or Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
+ Understanding of the public health and healthcare issues that the government agencies face to best position IQVIA data and analytic services is preferred.
**Additional Requirements**
+ Proficient in SAS/SQL and working knowledge of other programming languages such as R/Stata/Python.
+ Proficiency at healthcare data query, analysis and synthesis, client delivery
+ Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
+ Able to have successful developing positive client relationships; be a consultative problem solver, client-driven, creative, resourceful, fast and flexible, team player, and organized.
**Organization Reporting and Scope**
+ Reports to IQVIA Government Solutions Director of Real-World Insights (RWI) within the Information and Analytics (I&A) team.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $105,800.00 - $264,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
