Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is currently seeking a **Senior Construction Manager** to work within our North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant (NSWWTP) EOR site services team in the District of North Vancouver, BC. The position is a full-time, site-based role, during normal construction hours; however, some night and weekend work may be required. The selected candidate will interact daily with Metro Vancouver (Owner/Contract Administrator) and the Owner’s Engineer (OE) and will report directly to the Project Director. The responsibilities of the Construction Manager include: + Construction Project Management (e.g. working in conjunction with the Chief Resident Engineer to direct the field engineering team, interface to the in-office engineers-of-record and discipline leads, , direct client and OE coordination, supporting timely delivery of responses to all construction submittals, RFI’s, supporting the Contract Administrator’s for response to CO requests, etc., monitoring and reporting of QA/QC compliance and overall quality system) + QA/QC reviews and compliance + Work with Contract Administrator and Construction Contractor in expediting solutions to technical field problems + Support review, coordination, and adjudication of all construction submittals + Coordinate directly with Technical Leader, Home Office Engineering Leader and Design Team discipline leads on all design changes and construction submittals + Participate in the negotiation of change orders specific to design changes as requested by the Contract Administrator. + Notification to the Contract Administrator of any observed work that does not conform to the requirements of the contract documents; and + Participate in and document all construction meetings onsite (e.g. daily tailgate/safety meetings, weekly construction meetings, etc.). + Support and actively participate in planning of Functional Testing, Start-up and Commissioning. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or another related field + 10+ years’ professional experience in the design and construction engineering fields + Professional Engineer (P.Eng., PE, or CEng) with ability to be professionally registered with EGBC and work in Canada + Senior leadership role(s) on project(s) with capital value greater than $500 million CDN + Knowledge and experience in design, construction and commissioning of wastewater treatment plants **Preferred Qualifications:** + 20+ years’ experience in the design and/or construction engineering fields, specifically related to engineering design services during construction, commissioning and handover. + Senior leadership on a project with capital value greater than $500 million CDN + Ability to lead teams, respond to changing demands, be decisive under pressure, and can remain calm when interfacing with internal and external personnel + Experience in construction contract administration and/or management + Experience with Owner Supplied materials + Have supervised at least five (5) completed construction projects in the field, having minimum capital value of $200 million construction value for each project, where at least one of the projects was related to wastewater treatment plant + Held a lead role (e.g. Lead Technical Engineer/Project Manager/Engineer-of-Record/Construction Manager) on at least two (2) of the five (5) projects **Additional Information** + Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
