Job DescriptionJob Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to coordinate and monitor field construction administration activities and support Project Managers in managing implementation teams for projects of varying size and complexity. This role will be located in Dallas, TX. Also, this role ensures construction is completed in compliance with design specifications, within budget, and on schedule. The Construction Manager will serve as the liaison between contractors, internal stakeholders, and city representatives to maintain project quality, safety, and operational continuity.
Responsibilities
Oversee field and construction activities, including directing construction coordinators and other CM support staff as approved by AUSPerform quality control checks on personal work product and that of assigned staffSupport the Airport Program Manager (APM) in coordinating with other City of Austin departments, including Capital Delivery, Procurement, Development Services, and FinanceAssist the APM, Project Manager, and Capital Delivery Project Manager (CDPM) in change management and scope developmentCoordinate with City Engineering Construction Coordinators from the Capital Delivery Services DepartmentServe as liaison between contractors and internal AUS stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, and SecurityAttend contractor progress meetings, punch walks, mockup reviews, and other project meetings as requiredVerify contractor mobilization schedules and make recommendations to the APM regarding contractual requirements before issuance of the Notice to ProceedMaintain detailed project schedules to track design reviews, procurement, and construction activitiesCollaborate with pre-construction and design teams to review plans for constructability and cost implicationsReview and approve contractors’ Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and logistics plansOversee quality services to ensure contractors meet contractual standardsReview, adapt, and monitor construction safety programsLead periodic construction meetings to address issues affecting cost and scheduleSupport the review and negotiation of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) field costs, equipment, and general conditionsWork with AUS’s Environmental Team to ensure compliance with all environmental requirementsMonitor construction and prepare reports confirming compliance with contract requirementsCoordinate with safety and risk management teams to maintain a safe and secure project siteProvide input for monthly pay application reviews to assist the APM and CDPM in finalizing billingsReview daily construction reports and weekly work plans to ensure schedule adherenceSupport the change order review process, including reviewing contractor estimates, negotiating changes, and assisting with required approvalsQualificationsMinimum Requirements
BA/BS degree + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications
PMP (Project Management Professional) certificationCCM (Certified Construction Manager) certificationProven experience managing field construction activities, including oversight of contractors and CM staffStrong understanding of quality assurance/quality control processes, construction safety, and schedule managementAbility to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders and departments in a large-scale infrastructure environmentExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsProficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling softwareExperience managing projects in an airport or similar operationally sensitive environmentAdditional InformationAbout AECOM
