Lead the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components into hardware systems.Apply advanced knowledge of computer architecture and digital signal processing to enhance system efficiency.Implement best practices in software engineering to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.Understanding and integrating software defined radios in to position, navigation, and timing systemsDeveloping digital signal processing software defined radio applications for navigation systems and GPS/GNSS signal use casesEvaluate and integrate emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve product capabilities.Work Environment:

Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Extensive programming experience in C/C++, Python, and Java, with a focus on system-level development.Deep understanding of computer architecture, including multi-core processors, memory hierarchies, and I/O subsystems.Proficiency in digital and analog signal processing, with practical implementation experience.Expertise in software engineering principles, including design patterns, version control, and agile methodologies.Hands-on experience with advanced development tools, CI/CD pipelines, and performance profiling.Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Strong analytical and leadership skills, with a proven ability to drive complex projects to completion.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Active government security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.Desired:
Extensive experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems.Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, cybersecurity, and distributed systems.Practical experience with machine learning, AI frameworks, and data-driven system optimization.Proficiency in hardware design, prototyping, and system integration.Expert-level familiarity with software-defined radios, GNURadio, Simulink, and LabView.Basic Compensation:
$135,000 - $175,000
This pay range is for the Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
