The opportunity:

Support the Head of Compliance and Conduct Risk in implementing and embedding the Compliance Framework across AIA New Zealand. Play a key role in raising awareness of new compliance requirements, while providing expert guidance, oversight, and constructive challenge to existing compliance processes. Champion a strong risk culture throughout the organisation, helping to ensure compliance is understood, valued, and integrated into everyday business practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead assurance in respect of compliance, conduct risk and Business environment risk

Develop and deliver training and education on AIANZ’s compliance, conduct and business environment risks

Drive the adoption, communication and adherence of CRO owned policies and standards relating to compliance, conduct and business environment risks

Develop and maintain strong advice based relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the business

Drive a risk awareness culture across the AIA business and encourage speaking up · Provide subject matter expertise to support, review and endorse First Line activities across the AIA business · Proactively understand new or revised laws and regulations applicable to the AIA business and translate into Compliance obligations

Assist with the adoption of AIA Groups Compliance controls to assess, monitor and mitigate compliance risk

Contibute to the delivery of risk and compliance projects and internal initiatives

Review and investigate potential compliance breaches reported by the First Line and escalate material breaches in line with escalation protocols

Contribute to the timely completion of Group and local business reporting requirements

Identify and undertake personal and professional development for self and contribute to the development of the wider team

Perform and support other initiatives as required to support the Head of Compliance and Conduct Risk.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated ability to network and build relationships and business partnerships both internally and externally.

Strong ability to use own initiative and innovate to achieve responsibilities of the role, and has a high standard of analytical skills, good judgment, initiative, decision making and problem-solving skills.

Ability to recognize and foresee strategic opportunities for change, thinking outside the box to identify ideas and solutions for continuous improvement.

Ability to absorb high workloads and multitask the delivery of many activities whilst delivering stakeholder requirements.

Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and strong ability to influence others at all levels within and outside AIANZ.

Role Related Experience

Proven experience in Compliance risk management, quality assurance or audit, ideally in the financial services industry.

Assurance experience desirable.

Experience working with Executives and comfort in dealing with all senior leaders.

Proven ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
