We are looking for a Senior Compensation Analyst to make a meaningful impact and join our EMEA Compensation Team on an initial 24-month fixed-term contract!

As a specialized function within the wider Human Resources department, the Compensation COE provides effective and professional support to Business Leaders and HR Directors across 27 countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The EMEA Compensation Team consists of 4 Managers, 4 Analysts and a Coordinator and is ultimately led by the VP, International DE&I & EMEA Total Rewards.

The Senior Compensation Analyst EMEA will support the company’s preparations for pay transparency in EMEA. This role would be responsible for conducting pay equity analyses, documenting the objective reasons for any gender pay gaps in preparation for the EU Pay Transparency Directive and providing analysis to support global stakeholder management. The role would be pivotal to the successful roll-out of this significant culture change project.

Please note: This is an office-based role. 4 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 1 day working from home (Monday or Friday).

What You Will Do

Support with determining the best approach to utilising pay and people data to conduct a pay equity analysis using dedicated software (e.g. Syndio or Payanalytics). This may involve testing several iterations of the approach, including testing each potential variable to be used in a multivariate regression (basis of the pay equity analysis)

Conduct the pay equity analysis with the aim for it to be easily replicated in the future

Investigate pay equity analysis results by thoroughly understanding pay and people data and historical and current pay practices at Disney and by requesting further context from local HR teams

Document any additional context that helps us understand and explain the results

Interpret pay equity analysis results and additional context and translate this into insights to be shared with the wider Compensation Team and relevant HR stakeholders to enable continued fair pay practices across EMEA

As needed, provide analysis to support global stakeholder management for pay transparency preparations led by the Compensation Manager and VP, International DE&I & EMEA Total Rewards

Provide a pay equity lens to the Compensation Team’s strategic and operational decisions and broader HR policies and practices as requested

Keep in touch with updates on the transposition of the EU Pay Transparency Directive

Set up and adhere to data protection and information security guardrails with the support of the Compensation Manager and the relevant experts when establishing the pay equity analysis process

Other ad hoc support to the Compensation Team as needed (e.g. support on the Annual Compensation Planning Cycle, levelling, benchmarking, promotions and adjustments)

Required Qualifications & Skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal skills, e.g. ability to understand a variety of cultural attitudes to pay and facilitate a cohesive regional approach while being sensitive to local differences

Strong numerical and analytical skills is a necessity, e.g. the ability to investigate inconsistencies in data and interpret statistics and tell a story behind it

High level of Microsoft Excel proficiency is a necessity, e.g.

Familiarity with a wide range of Excel formulae, i.e. xlookups, IF statements.

Ability to use conditional formatting, data validations and charting; and

Strong presentation skills tailored to relevant audience

Strong time management skills

Proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools, i.e. Word, Powerpoint.

Able to work with ambiguity, e.g. based on high level instructions, working with exceptions to the rule / procedure or last-minute changes

Previous experience in compensation, conducting pay equity analyses and/or gender pay gap analyses would be preferred

Previous experience using HR Information Systems (e.g. Workday) and payroll data would be preferred

Previous experience in Syndio or PayAnalytics, or other equivalent pay equity analysis software would be an advantage

Knowledge of Smartsheets and IBM Cognos would be an advantage

What you need to know

Understanding of multivariate regression analysis and its application with regards to pay

A broad understanding of equal pay laws and relevant cases would be an advantage

Understanding of the EU Pay Transparency Directive and global pay transparency trends would be an advantage

An educational background in an analytical subject or equivalent experience would be an advantage
