The Boeing Company’s Media Relations team is hiring an experienced, adaptable and energetic Senior Communicator to join us in Renton, WA to serve as a media spokesperson for Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA).

In partnership with Sales/Marketing, Airplane Programs, Quality, Supply Chain and other functional teams, this media relations specialist will tell our commercial story while also managing reactive issues. You’ll collaborate with colleagues, executives and subject matter experts to develop and execute media strategies, strengthen media relationships and anticipate, plan and manage topics, events and interviews for BCA and our Puget Sound-area workforce. The successful candidate will have experience working in and/or with media and a track record of developing stories and effective messaging to drive an external narrative. The candidate will be curious and eager to continue learning. This professional will have excellent news judgment, stay current on BCA news, media channels and social media that could drive coverage, and have a track record of creative, compelling storytelling via earned and owned media channels.

Position Responsibilities:

Serves as a trusted Boeing spokesperson for a portfolio of Commercial Airplanes topics and Puget Sound-area issues

Develops, socializes and implements communications plans aligned to BCA business goals to communicate news, milestones and company priorities

Ensures alignment, improves results and avoids surprises

Manages messaging, edits and stages news releases and company statements

Builds and maintains strong relationships with key media

Analyzes media trends and sentiment to inform communication strategies

Collaborates across Boeing on integrated campaigns to promote internal/social stories in the media

Displays excellent time-management skills and manages competing priorities and tight deadlines

Partners with business unit and functional colleagues across Boeing to support media engagements with business leaders and subject matter experts in ways that ensure alignment, improve results and avoid surprises

Manages messaging, edits and stages news releases and company statements Build and maintain strong relationships with key media

Analyzes media trends and sentiment to inform communication strategies

Collaborates across Boeing on integrated campaigns to promote internal/social stories in the media

Grasps complex, highly-detailed information and translate for external audiences

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree or higher

5 years of communications, journalism or other relevant work experience

5 years of experience writing and editing with demonstrated experience effectively utilizing a wide variety of communications tactics

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

5 years of experience as a team player with a bias for action and curiosity about aviation and process improvement

An insatiable appetite for social media

A self-motivated learner, with a relentless curiosity about airplane manufacturing, air travel and process improvement

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Level 4: $108,800 – $147,200

Summary pay range for Level 5: $133,450 - $180,550
