Responsibilities
The Senior Communications Specialist is a strategic leader and expert in communications, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies that support Mayo Clinic’s Office of Administrative Systems Transformation (IT, Finance, SCM and HR). This role partners with cross-functional teams to align messaging with business objectives, enhance staff engagement, and elevate the visibility and impact of administrative systems initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead development and execution of communication plans across digital, media, internal news, and engagement channels.Provide strategic consultation to leaders and stakeholders, translating complex initiatives into clear, compelling communications.Manage sensitive and enterprise-wide communications with professionalism with content appropriate for each audience.Create and maintain content for presentations, intranet pages, job aids, and staff-facing materials.Facilitate engagement activities such as focus groups, learning sessions, and feedback loops.Monitor and measure communication effectiveness, adjusting strategies to optimize impact.Represent Administrative Systems internally and externally with clarity and transparency.Lead cross-functional teams and external partners to drive execution of communication strategies.Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism) plus 3 years of relevant work experience.
Masters preferred.

The preferred applicant will have experiences with Enterprise or large organization communication planning and execution, as well as sensitive communications. Experience with strategic planning is also desired. We are looking for someone that can be a utility player, from planning and executing communications but also other materials such as presentations, job aids and webpage, or activities including focus groups or learning sessions, etc.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with sensitive communications and change management.Familiarity with administrative systems and enterprise transformation initiatives.Ability to serve as a change management and communications utility player across planning, execution, and content development.Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement.Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and audiences.Experience with digital platforms, intranet content management, and staff engagement tools.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.*This position is a 100% remote work.
