Job Summary
The Communications Leader will serve as the strategic communications advisor to the Trane Supply business unit (BU), serving as a member of the business’ senior leadership team (SLT). This role will support the business President and collaborate closely with the BU functional leaders and enterprise in support of communications strategies aligned for the business and Communications function. The successful candidate will develop the communications strategy, channels, messaging, and tactics to support the business’ strategic priorities, increase leader communications effectiveness, protect and enhance the reputation of the strategic brand, and increase employee engagement to attract and retain talent.
The Communications Leader will report to the Director, Employee & Business Communications. This role offers hybrid flexibility in Davidson, NC.
What you will do:
Develop and execute integrated internal and external communications strategies that support the strategic priorities of the business unit in alignment with enterprise goals to achieve annual objectives.Serve as primary communications advisor to the President, Trane Supply, and respective leadership team members to enhance leader communications effectiveness, mitigate reputational risk and support business change and key internal / external initiatives.Collaborate closely with functions within the BU and the enterprise in support of communications strategies for the business, including Human Resources, Marketing, Legal, Product Management and others as needed.Proactively diagnose business needs, issues and opportunities that can be addressed through communication strategies.Contribute to the company’s global internal content strategy, elevating content from the business to help drive employee engagement, enhance culture, and connect employees with our company’s purpose, strategies, and leadership principles.Collaborate with the broader Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement (CMPE) function to provide integrated communications strategies that enhance the company’s reputation, collective brands and exemplify its Employee Value Proposition.Partner to support and execute thought leadership platforms, external speaking and media opportunities that help position the business and enterprise as a leader in sustainability and employer of choice.Partner to support advise, develop and implement critical issues, change and crisis response within the business in partnership with CMPE, human resources, legal, and other relevant functions, as necessary.Develop compelling messaging and core materials to support strategies for internal communications – track, measure and report results to senior leaders.Serve as a communications expert to educate, train, coach and develop leaders / managers on how to apply communications as a core business process – includes messaging around key initiatives and changes; effective stakeholder engagement; delivery mechanisms; and feedback and listening.Measure, analyze and maximize integrated communications results with all critical stakeholders to demonstrate its value to the businesses and enterprise.
What you will bring:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, or marketing with 10+ years related experience (i.e., media relations, corporate communications, executive communications, or employee communications), preferably for a B2B company with a varied product, customer and business portfolio, and diverse employee population.Experience acting as a strategic advisor to senior executives with the ability to influence.Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills.Change management and crisis management communications experience.Active listening skills to identify high impact opportunities.Strong business acumen and ability to understand and communicate complex business concepts and strategies.Experience in leading cross-functional projects, with successful track record in stakeholder engagement and achieving measurable outcomes.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $120,000 to $170,000.
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
