What you will do:

The Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer is the primary quality interface between Raytheon’s organization and the external supply base.  The CSAE is responsible for ensuring suppliers meet requirements, resolve quality issues, provide performance feedback, and implement continuous improvement ideas. This role requires excellent communication skills, meeting facilitation, and the ability to create and sustain healthy supplier relationships. The CSAE is a key player as the liaison between the supply base and Raytheon’s internal functional groups for activities such as supplier source selection, business level management, risk mitigation, strategic planning, and development of key suppliers.  The CSAE represents Raytheon professionally and supports Raytheon’s Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the supply base.

Location Information:

This position entails assignment as a Senior Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer residing in New York ( preferably in the Long Island, NY area) in the US and is remote. Visits to local Supplier facilities will be required and will require a home office be maintained. Candidates are expected to travel domestically a minimum of 25% of the time, to include driving up to 300-mile radius with some flying as needed.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Developing process improvement strategies and risk mitigation activities to be utilized across supply baseClosely interface with external/internal customers and key partners to establishing effective relationshipsMust have the ability to manage and impact multiple stakeholder levelsLeveraging quality assurance to influence business decision-makers, ensuring efforts are focused on the customer’s priorities and mission success requirementsInterpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understandingEnsuring flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality requirementsAssessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectivesIdentifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plansDriving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologiesWorking with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skillsSupports the First Article Verification and Source InspectionSupporting supplier assessments, audits, and reviews

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years relevant engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of industry related experience.Experience managing and leading suppliers with Root Cause Corrective Action methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.Experience working process improvement initiativesExperience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for decision makingThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. Qualifications We Prefer:

Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and deliveryStrong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributorExperience working within commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards - AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145Experience with industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)Experience in collaborating with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chainExperience with: Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), Printed Wire Board (PWB), Wire/Cable, Electrical Items and Assemblies.

This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
