As the Senior Commercial Operations Manager for Markets, you'll spearhead strategic deal support and commercial execution for substantial software opportunities throughout the Americas, with a pronounced focus on customers in regulated electricity markets, especially those involving Independent System Operators (ISOs). You'll be instrumental in driving revenue growth by collaborating closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Product teams to structure high-value, enterprise-grade deals that are commercially robust, compliant, and aligned with GE Vernova's goals and the unique commercial frameworks of the electric utility sector. This role requires not only a strong commercial acumen but also a nuanced understanding of the operational and regulatory factors that influence utility purchasing cycles, market operator engagement models, and the extended implementation timelines characteristic of grid software.

Roles and Responsibilities

Enterprise Deal StructuringLead the development of commercial frameworks for complex, high-value deals, balancing revenue, risk, and compliance while aligning with customer requirements. Bring specific expertise to structuring deals for electric utilities and ISO-aligned entities, where regulatory constructs, license timelines, and implementation cycles require bespoke commercial thinking.Strategic Proposal ManagementOwn the creation and governance of tailored commercial proposals, ensuring clarity, competitiveness, and alignment with internal standards. Anticipate customer-side challenges related to regulated environments and shape responses accordingly.Cross-Functional LeadershipServe as a key commercial advisor to Sales and a point of coordination across Legal, Finance, and Product for deal-specific strategy and approvals. Help ensure commercial approaches reflect how ISOs and utilities evaluate risk, value, and technical scope.Executive CommunicationClearly articulate deal strategy, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders, including regional leadership and functional heads. Translate ISO-specific timelines, constraints, and approval dynamics into commercial terms.Governance and ComplianceMaintain rigor around commercial policies, pricing guidelines, and approval workflows. Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards, especially those relevant to regulated utility customers.Quote-to-Order OptimizationPartner with Commercial Excellence and Sales Operations teams to identify and implement improvements to commercial systems and processes, with awareness of how complex stakeholder environments like ISOs affect deal velocity.Performance Metrics and ReportingDefine and monitor KPIs related to deal velocity, pricing discipline, sales efficiency, and margin impact.Process ExcellenceChampion commercial execution best practices and uphold process rigor in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with sensitivity to long-cycle, mission-critical utility deployments.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Operations, Deal Desk, Strategic Pricing, or Proposal Management, preferably in enterprise software or SaaSStrong experience leading or supporting large, complex enterprise deals involving multi-year terms, non-standard clauses, and high customer visibilityDirect or adjacent experience working with Independent System Operators (ISOs), electric utilities, or other regulated energy sector stakeholdersDeep knowledge of commercial deal structures, pricing strategies, and software contracting principlesExcellent communication and executive presence; confident engaging with senior leaders and guiding cross-functional teams through complex decisionsStrong command of CRMs and analytics platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Responsive, Aha!, Power BI) and experience driving systems improvementsDetail-oriented with a disciplined, process-driven mindset and strong analytical skillsAbility to lead initiatives independently and work effectively across functions in a matrixed organization

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $160,00USD - $200,000USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
