Job DetailsThis role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.
Job Purpose:
The Generics Senior Commercial Finance Analyst serves as a key business partner, providing strategic financial insights and analysis to support decision making across the organisation. This role is responsible for driving Alliance Healthcare’s performance by clearly explaining financial results to stakeholders, delivering timely and accurate reporting, and managing budgeting and forecasting processes. Through a combination of analytical expertise, strong communication, and collaborative partnerships, this role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making and achieving financial objectives.
Principle Accountabilities:Business Partnering:
Work closely with the commercial teams to understand category performance, opportunities and risks. Exchange information and advice to ensure accurate accounting of items relating to the category P&L. Provide financial tools that enable the commercial teams to make informed decisions on pricing, product & customer.
Reporting & Analysis:
Create regular reports and ad-hoc analysis that build a comprehensive understanding of category performance and its key drivers. Support ad-hoc initiatives with data-led guidance. Facilitate informed decision-making by effectively communicating findings and insights to key stakeholders and leadership teams in an accurate, concise and timely manner.
Forecasting & Budgeting:
Prepare detailed short- and long-term financial forecasts for the category. Leverage analysis and expertise to create well-informed and realistic expectations of financial performance, securing stakeholder alignment and approval for forecasts and budgets.
DHSC Submissions:
Manage quarterly regulatory submissions, co-ordinating inputs from multiple business areas to ensure data is submitted within the required timelines. Validate and review the consolidated data to ensure accuracy, clearly explain key dynamics to secure leadership team approval of submissions.
Almus P&L:
Take full ownership of Almus P&L, including budget setting and performance reporting. Conduct monthly review of results with key stakeholders, providing detailed explanations and supporting follow-up actions to enhance understanding and drive performance improvements.
Innovation and Complexity:
Continual review and development of analysis to keep reporting relevant to business needs, devising new methods & improvements
Challenge current processes & reporting to reduce time wasted on non-value adding activities
Leverage available technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of analysis
Autonomy and Independence:
Reasonably high level of autonomy
Proactively identify, investigate and resolve issues and queries in relation to commercial performance
Develop procedures to ensure a high standard of accuracy of work carried out
Work within a defined structure in order to meet critical deadlines. Month end and planning timelines must be adhered to
Informing and Advising Others:
Clear presentation of data and findings
Tailor media and communication method to audience and message
Convert data into actionable insight to be shared with commercial teams
Level of Decision Making:
High level of responsibility, requiring independent judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence decisions through clear communication and expert recommendations
Significant responsibility for shaping and informing decisions made by leadership and key stakeholders
Prioritisation of own workload and management of issues requiring escalation to line manager or higher

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Pharmaceutical wholesale / retail experience or industry awareness
Strong commercial awareness
ACCA/CIMA preferred
Advanced Excel
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Ability to analyse data and make clear/concise recommendations.
