Job Description
The Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate recording and application of cash received from customers, as well as the daily balancing of cash receipts against the general ledger. This position also serves as a backup for all team lead functions related to cash applications.
ResponsibilitiesResearch and accurately input cash receipts into customer accounts daily, ensuring correct application.Investigate accounts to resolve discrepancies such as short payments or misapplications.Conduct daily balancing procedures to verify cash postings, sales, and credit align with the general ledger.Generate monthly reconciliation of cash received against the general ledger.Update complex Excel reports daily and communicate updates to management.Assist the team lead in reviewing daily work assignments and manage task allocation to ensure timely completion.Support the team lead in training new hires and team members on new tasks.Provide documentation support during periodic third-party audits.Participate in enhancement projects such as system testing and automation improvements.Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable solutions.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in B2B collections on $30 million+ Fortune 500 level portfolios.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables and use VLOOKUP.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is highly preferred.Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.Technical proficiency in operating multiple ERP systems.Experience in accounts receivable and cash application.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilling background is helpful.Strong analytical skills and dispute resolution experience are highly preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively with various company systems.Organized, structured, and responsible for work assignments.Ability to work independently and display professionalism.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a professional office in Alpharetta, GA. Initially, the role requires onsite presence every day for the first two weeks, transitioning to a hybrid model with three days onsite. The team consists of 8-10 members, fostering a collaborative atmosphere with a manager known for being straightforward and personable.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $31.24/hr.
