HDR is looking for a senior-level coastal engineer and/or modeler in our Tampa, FL office to join our team of nationally ranked professionals. We are looking for a Professional Engineer with the ability to perform

Analysis, modeling and design of coastal resilience projects including sea level rise infrastructure assessments, coastal numerical modelling shoreline protection projects including revetments and living shorelines, and navigation projects including dredging, marinas, and harborsResponsibilities will also include preparation of proposals including project scope and fee estimates, staff mentoring, and project managementSuitable candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills and demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, and sediment transportA keen interest in interdisciplinary architecture, transportation, and water projects is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

MS or PhD degree in engineering preferredExperience with high-performance computing (HPC) environmentsExperience with the application of artificial intelligence software to coastal and marine modeling Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent fieldA minimum of 10 years Water Resources experience Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. HEC-1, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, Storm CAD, Haested Methods Experience in water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics and drainage/flood control design Familiarity with DOT drainage design criteria Experience in FEMA studies a plus Excellent writing and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a project team An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
