The role:
The Senior Coal Technician will provide support to the Laboratory Supervisor and Manager, and participate in laboratory consulting services to clients of Bureau Veritas in order to effectively control and circumvent all relevant and potential technical issues associated with the client’s business.
To participate in training and to continue to assist with the development and monitoring of internal systems and processes within the laboratory.
The responsibilities:
Supplying quality, timely results and products to customers as per their requirements. Maintaining communication with customers and ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times. Ensuring accuracy, precision and timely reporting of analyses. Carrying out data validations to verify analysis (where possible) and document in relevant job file. Ensuring proposals, quotations or tenders are approved by Laboratory and National Operations Manager.
What’s needed?
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
Experience working in a coal testing laboratory. Sound knowledge and good grounding in Coal Processing. Sound working knowledge and of OHS and QA systems and what the processes are behind these.
Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
Must live locally in the Gladstone region and must be willing to travel to different mines sites. NO FIFO.
