Job DescriptionThe West Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, senior Civil Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater/Conveyance team in Orange, CA. This position will be part of an exciting team employing the latest technologies to solve critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems throughout the United States. This is an opportunity to work on some of our nation’s most pressing water infrastructure problems and contributing to AECOM’s success as an industry leader in engineering and construction.
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Civil Engineer will lead design project delivery from planning through construction for our water, wastewater and conveyance engineering team here in Southern California. This position will allow the candidate to lead a project team and work with other project managers to build our engineering design team in the Orange, CA office.
It is desirable that this candidate be experienced with bringing site civil engineering designs from conception through construction. This candidate will be performing both conceptual and detailed engineering designs, participating in detailed constructability reviews, and performing detailed quality control reviews with other design disciplines. The primary responsibilities will include performing engineering calculations and modeling efforts, managing design/support of staff and project level engineers, coordinating project goals with multiple project managers, as well as performing project management tasks such as workload forecasting and estimates at completion. It is desirable that this candidate demonstrate strong communication skills to be used within AECOM, with our subconsultants, and with our Clients.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, related engineering field, or drafting education and 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or educationValid Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records reviewPreferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Civil or Environmental EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer in California, or able to obtain within one year of hiring dateExperience with water/wastewater infrastructure design projects, of all scales from planning and design through construction phasesStrong user of CAD and design software (Civil 3D, MicroStation, Water CAD, Bentley Design Suites, etc.)Strong experience with site civil, grading, and drainage design.Must work independently with minimal supervision, an,Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiativeExperience in working with local and state regulatory agenciesExperience in managing engineering subconsultantsExperience with project management and mentorshipAdditional InformationAbout AECOM
