Senior Civil Engineer - Federal

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll work alongside engineers and architects in our Federal & Environmental Solutions (F&ES) business unit and be responsible for leading the civil engineering component of facility planning and final design projects. Responsibilities include the overall project quality of civil engineering work performed, client service, utilization of assigned staff, and project profitability. Such projects include, but are not limited to, site development for US military and other federal facilities. Travel to project sites is expected, including international locations. Must have experience and detailed knowledge of assessing site features and creating site layouts, designing utilities systems and pavements, grading and drainage, stormwater management and erosion & sediment control; writing project specifications, and developing integrated facility site plans with other design disciplines. Other expected experience is services during construction including review and approval of contractor submittal documents and addressing contractor RFIs. Additional duties would include developing labor budgets for civil engineering design effort and developing cost-effective and feasible phased plans for upgrades and replacement of site infrastructure. You will attend multi-discipline design meetings, interact with clients, and lead a team of EITs and civil support staff. Must have strong communication skills as you'll be mentoring less experienced employees, managing civil design project teams, collaborating with senior engineers of other disciplines and architects, and reporting design progress to Project Managers and clients. Other duties may include civil works project assignments to develop solutions together with coastal engineers that address our country’s water, resiliency, and disaster recovery challenges through measures such as floodwalls and stormwater pump stations. Onsite supervising of topographic and utility survey teams may also be required. * Licensed Professional Engineer * At least 15 years of progressive responsibility and experience in site development projects including sealing design documents as the Engineer of Record * Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program * Strong background in plan production and project execution while lead design teams * AutoCAD Civil3D design experience * United States Citizen Ideally, you’ll also have: * Experience with Federal clients and projects * Experience with Bluebeam software Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
