Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer – Airport Infrastructures for a full-time position. Reporting to the Airport department manager, the selected candidate will work on civil engineering projects related to airports primarily in Québec but also across Canada. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in diverse projects that support your continued professional development.

The position can be based out of any of our office locations and is available in a hybrid work format, offering flexibility to accommodate personal circumstances and geographic location.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing airport-related projectsPerforming engineering analyses, assessments, and studiesDesigning (calculations and sizing) planned infrastructureSupervising and/or preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates according to client standardsCoordinating projects with other disciplinesEvaluating and verifying the feasibility of the workParticipating in meetings and presenting key issues and proposed solutionsProviding design support, reviewing shop drawings, and attending construction meetings during project executionMonitoring budgets and schedulesOccasionally writing service proposalsSupervising engineer-in-training candidates, intermediate engineers, and technicians

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering6 years of experience in airport engineering projectsAbility to communicate in FrenchKnowledge of Transport Canada’s TP312 and ICAO standardsMember of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or ability to obtain it in a short time frame

Preferred qualifications:

10 years of experience in airport engineering projectsBilingual English/French, written & spokenProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteCompletion of the General Health and Safety on Construction Sites (ASP) courseKnowledge of pavement design and hydraulic modeling softwareWillingness to travel occasionally to various airports in Quebec and across CanadaExperience in airport infrastructure such as pavement design, airside planning, geotechnical investigation, and surface characterizationExperience with clients such as Transportation Canada, PSPC (Public Services and Procurement Canada), ADM (Montréal Airports), Pearson Airport etc.Interest in BIM and GIS project environments
