We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at Edwards Lifesciences' Draper, UT facility. This role plays a critical part in providing a range of testing and supporting activities in a chemistry laboratory environment. Responsibilities include but not limit to: perform sample preparation, extraction, and report generation, performing testing using analytical equipment (e.g., analytical balance, gas and liquid chromatography, etc.), maintaining chemical inventory, cleaning laboratory glassware, handling chemical waste in compliance with safety protocols, and conducting equipment calibration and preventative maintenance.

Within and outside of the laboratory.Perform routine and non-routine testing using established procedures and protocolsAccurately document testing activities following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)Support qualification and validation of critical systems and equipment under supervisionAssist in developing and updating operating procedures to maintain compliance with GDP, and Environmental Health Safety (EHS) standardsPerform scheduled calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipmentManage chemical inventory, including receiving and tracking chemicals, samples, and suppliesMaintain a clean, organized laboratory environment aligned with 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety) principles, including glassware cleaning and chemical waste managementInitiate and support laboratory investigations, providing recommendations for managerial reviewProficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe AcrobatPrepare data summaries, reports, and protocols using standardized templates; review and approve basic laboratory dataTrain and mentor junior technicians, assess techniques, and provide constructive feedbackSolid mathematical proficiency (algebra at a minimum), including decimals, percentages, and unit conversionsPerform other duties as assignedWhat You’ll Need (Required):
Associate’s degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related scientific field plus at least three (3) years of experience working in a chemistry/scientific related laboratory environment; ORBachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related scientific field with no experience.What else we look for (Preferred):
Degree in chemistryHighly regulated industry experience (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech)Experience operating advanced analytical instruments such as FTIR, SEM, ICP-MS, GCMS, and LCMS for material characterization, contamination analysis, or regulatory testing purposes.Experience with validation/revalidation protocols, and equipment qualificationFamiliarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and committed to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Good Laboratory PracticesExtensive knowledge of laboratory operations, including chemical handling and safety practicesExperienced in regulated environments such as cleanroom manufacturing and laboratoriesEdwards is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer including protected Veterans and individuals with disabilities.
